 Hello Rod,
Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Mary Marshall Bates the wife of Richard Fenton Bates whose 2nd great grandmother was Ruby Bigelow, daughter of Amasa Bigelow and Abigail Skinner. In reviewing the Bigelow Family Genealogy  on the Bigelow Family Page, I see that Ruby (1592C.B) and David Faulkner's family was not traced.
Several of us have done family research. As a matter of fact, mine is ongoing. However, if you care to post it, the attachment is four generations of Known Descendants of Ruby Bigelow with dources. By the way, my husband's grandmother was Emma Bigelow Burns who married Edward Thurber Bates.

Brooklyn Standard Union Nov 25, 1863. BIGELOW. - At Hartford, Conn., on Saturday night last, of ossification of the heart, William BIGELOW, formerly of Brooklyn, in the 78th year of
his age. The older citizens of Brooklyn will observe this decease with strong and peculiar emotion. Mr. BIGELOW for many years occupied the premises where now stands the Atlantic
Bank, and touched every chord of sympathy by his social nature, cordial kindness and universal good will. To these genial qualities he added a high order of intelligence, and was active
in various institutions, chief of which was the Apprentices Library, which had a large share of his attention. He was of the class of persons who, once known, are never to be forgotten,
and should have a place in any gallery of Brooklyn portraits.

Hello Rod
I just stumbled across your web site while doing a search on Peru, NY.
I noticed that you have a Nicholas Curtis Bigelow who married Ann Eliza
Clark in 1843.  I'm trying to research the Elisha and Praxa Clark family
of Peru.  They had at least 3 children born there:  Julius, Caroline
Mary Ann, and Luther Drury.  Luther was born 11 Aug 1816 and married
Elsie Maria Hawks 12 Jun 1844 in Peru.  After that I have nothing more
on Elisha or Praxa - no marriage or death dates or anything.

We're going to be doing some sightseeing in Vermont (have a B & B in
Swanton) and then driving over to the Peru/Plattsburgh/Beekmantown area
as that's where my relatives moved to.  I was wondering if you can give
me any hints as to perhaps a cemetery that was often used in perhaps the
mid 1800's in case Elisha & Praxa are buried in Peru or anyplace else I
might look for local records.  I'll be in Peru on a Sat.
Thank you so much for any help you might be able to give.

While perusing your site today, I discovered a reference to my great-great-great grandfather, Aholiab Bigelow.  In the text of this reference, I dicovered a blank among the names of his children "R_____(illegible).  This should read "Rosilla."  Rosilla (my great-great grandmother) was born April 13, 1834, and married John Sylvanus Robinson, son of Josiah Robinson, in 1857.  They built a homestead in Neponset, Bureau County, llinois where they reared 3 children, Arthur "Cap" Robinson, Richard Warren Robinson (my great grandfather), and Lottie May Robinson.  Rosilla (Rose) Bigelow Robinson died in November 1891 (of dysentery from drinking bad water at the Bureau Co. Fair) and is buried in the Floral Hill Cemetery in Neponset, IL.
My father is currently undertaking the preservation of the grave stone of Aholiab Bigelow, which we unearthed at the Buda, IL cemetery several years ago.
I hope that this information can be of help to you.  Please contact me if you require documentation of any of the above facts.

Hello,
My name is Don Shafer, 3015 Frampton Dr. Toledo Ohio 43614  Telephone 419 385 0475.  Please post my query as
many places as you can. David Bigelow  Birth around 1836.  Father Jonathan Bigelow, Mother Polly Hines.  In 1860 living with father and mother. In 1870 living next to father. Alone. Locations of both is Auglaize Co. Ohio. I believe he was in the civil war.  His father died in 1876.  I lost him in 1880C.  According to death records he is supposed to be the father of Juliet, Dianna and Dora Bigelow.  The mother is Charlotte Harris, daughter of Jonathan and Elizabeth Bradford Harris.  No birth records found and no marriage record for him and Charlotte. When Charlotte did get married she was married under her maiden name.   So you see I really have a problem.

I understand that there are skeptics about the letter that Jerusha Garfield Bigelow sent to her husband during his

you believe that Emma Lewis Coleman took some literary license when she told his story?

I stumbled on to your work today and was enormously delighted to see the headstones of my Bigelow line for me to study.  I haven't worked on these line for a long time.  I sent the information I had and found on to Alaska  to the Bigelow family but I never had the headstones.  In fact this is the first that I have seen of them.  I will have to see if you have anything else that I do not have and see if I can contribute to your work in any way. So I will have to get back to you on this.
The above reference did not appear on Mark Bigelow and Orilla Sutfin Smith.  I later found a goodly bunch of material on the Sutphen Family in N.J. and found Orilla's father's information in the Revolutionary War archives.  He was in one of the main troups of George Washingtons and he of course went to other areas during the war.  I have a few stories that I learned about this group.
Do you know anything more on Rachel Wheeler's family.  I can not find out a whole bunch about her family.  There was stated to be a plate in our family that came originally from the Mayflower.  I don't find any decendant from the Mayflower except I have not found a whole lot about Alexander Smith's family.  Smith's could be from the Mayflower.  The Wheeler family however, come from Brewsters.  So this could be it.  But in the Wheeler family that I have checked does not have this Rachael Wheeler identified in any of their books. The Wheelers came from Conneticut near the Bigelow Family.
I have a number of Mark Bigelow family.  His daughter Ida Ellen is my grandmother on my father's side of the family.
How can I get some photo copies of the Bigelow grave stones.  Clinton Co., N.Y. is not very helpful to most of my relatives who have gone there to get genealogical information.  It appears that the library closed it doors to genealogical persuits.  I was in Clinton Co. N.Y. about 32 years ago and we were unable to find what I had tried to pursue. You cannot imagine how joyful I am to see this information, especially the
headstones.
Please contact me,  We may be able to help each other.  I may desire to know more on Hiram's family.

First of all, thanks for a great website.

Sally W. Bigelow (15336.A5 ) married Dudley Day, res. East Ashford, NY. Dudley's line is as follows: More..............

I forgot to mention in my previous message to you that the wife of Henry
Bigelow (15336.A3), Sophia Day, is the sister of Dudley Day, who married
Sally Bigelow (15336.A5 ).  Also, Sally's date of death is 21 Dec 1889, East
Ashford, NY, and she is buried in Riceville Cemetery, West Valley, NY.

Does anyone have any information on the parents of Hannah Walker, wife of
Job Bigelow (15336.A)? I have a theory that because her and Job's first
child was named Charles Chandler Bigelow, Charles and Chandler must have
been family names from her side, since those names do not seem to occur in
the Bigelow line. Thanks for any input on this.

1948 or 1949.
If there was any infor. re Katherine Bigelow-Moore-Rogers, her second husband (d.1957) or his second wife Lucy (Wann) Rogers, still know to be living in 1981, I would be most interested.  You may be aware that Katherine and Herman Rogers were close friends of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and figure prominently in that chapter of history.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Rod,
My wife descends from Robert Day.  I have information on the parents and lineage of Anna Day, wife of James Bigelow (1764 - 1840) if you are interested.  Her parents were Noah Day and Ann Loomis.  I didn't know if you already have the information and just
haven't posted it, if you don't have it, or if it's a family that you're not really interested in.  But I thought I'd make contact with you in case you'd be interested.Let me know if you would like more info., including her birthdate, etc.
I really enjoyed visiting your page.  The cemetery pictures are a very  nice touch.
Take Care!

This is the info I have (from the book "The Descendants of Andrew Dewing" I hope it helps. I can also give you info on Abbie's parents and siblings if you'd like.
