son of Guy 7 ( James 6 , Jonathan 5, Asa 4, Lieut. John 3, Joshua 2, John 1) , and Nancy (HURD)
BIGELOW, was born at Colchester, New London, CT in 1844. Our
limited records show that he was married twice. The first marriage was
on 22 March 1866 at Colchester, to Mary Foote who died 15 April 1885.
He married second on 16 March 1886 Mary McDonald. No other details at this
time, except that "they resided on the old homestead on Bulkley Hill". New
info: Guy Marcellus Bigelow and Mary McDonald (12/14/1861, NYC
- 1915, ?) were married on March 16, 1886. Mary McDonald's parents were
Henry McDonald (~1834, Scotland - April 1,1867, Colchester, CT) and Elizabeth
McCaughan (~1834, Coleraine, Ireland -December 29, 1896, Colchester, CT),
who were married January 3, 1856 in New York City, very shortly after arriving
in the USA.

I saw your webpage on Guy Marcellus Bigelow. You indicate that he married
(second marriage) Mary McDonald, but have no further info on this couple.
I
am descended from Mary's brother, Henry McDonald (1858 - 1934), and have
info on Mary's and Guy's children. Guy Marcellus Bigelow and Mary McDonald
(12/14/1861, NYC - 1915, ?) were married on March 16, 1886 and had the
following children:

What a thrill it has been to work on your site. The cemetery
pictures are magnificent. I just want to let
you know that I have the family and several of the grandchildren of Guy
Otis Bigelow son of Guy
Marcellus Bigelow. He went out to Worthington Minnesota and lived
with his uncle Otis and wife
Hattie. He married Georgette Dow 27 June 1900 in Nobles County
Minnesota. They had 6 children. If
you are interested in this information for your site let me know and
I will gedcom it and send it to you.

ROGHAAR, Florence Irene BIGELOW - of
Delray Beach, FI, died in her sleep November 19,2004 at the age of 98. She
was born April 14, 1906, in Dorchester, MA, the only daughter of Marion
Kelley and Nathaniel Foote Bigelow, who traced his ancestors to the Puritans
who arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony from England in 1630. Florence
grew up on a farm in Colchester, CT, went to Morse Business College in Hartford,
CT, Learned to type and take shorthand and then got a job. She met her future
husband, George Roghaar, taking saxophone lessons, and sang and danced
her way through the Depression in a Gypsy routine with her friend Florence
Parker. As a resident of Winchester and Arlington Philharmonic Society,
Friends of the drama and the order of the Eastern Star. She sang in the
choir of the Arlington Pleasant Street Congregational Church for many years.
She traveled around the world and delighted in bringing home gifts to her
grandchildren. Throughout her long life Florence was loved by her friends
and family for her generous heart, cheerful disposition and sense of humor.
She will be missed, She leaves a son and daughter-in-law George and Florence
Roghaar of Boca Raton, FI, a daughter Linda Roghaar
