Guy 7 BIGELOW


16352.38     Guy 7 BIGELOW, son of  James 6 ( Jonathan 5,  Asa 4, Lieut. John 3, Joshua 2, John 1) , and Anna (DAY) BIGELOW, was born at Colchester, New London, CT on 17 May 1802 (1850 census states 1804 which undoubtedly is an error). He married at the home of his brother, James, on 13 October 1822 Nancy Hurd. The marriage was performed by John Bigelow, Deacon and Justice of the Peace - (16321.6). Nancy was the daughter of James and Nancy (-) Hurd and born about 1804 at East Hadam, CT according to census record. They resided in Colchester where he died on 15 May 1877 and his widow also died there on 25 December 1892 age 88. Guy was a farmer and from the census records and the town historian of Colchester (1888) we determine the children as follows, all born at Colchester:
(Guy and Nancy buried in Linwood cemetery, Colchester CT; "Bigelow, Guy, died May 15, 1877, age 74; Bigelow, Nancy Hurd, wife of Guy, died Dec. 25, 1893, age 88 yrs. 10 mos.")

16352.385    Asa, b ca 1835; d 17 April 1891; m 17 Sept 1887 Calista Abby Carrier.

16352.386    Nancy C., b ca 1837; d 25 May 1900 Colchester; m 31 Oct 1865 George W. Harding.

16352.387    Otis, b 04 June 1838 (age 10 on 1850 census); d Worthington, MN; m 04 Sept 1859 Hattie H. Stocking at Portland, CT; no children.

16352.388    Emily, b ca 1842; d_____Sept 1938 W. Hartford, CT; unm.

16352.389t   Guy Marcellus, b ca 1844; d______; m (1) 22 March 1866 Mary S. Foote, (2)16 March 1886 Mary McDonald; 4 children.
