My name is Jeanne Mursch and I have a book

I have read your web page on Uriah Bigelow.  http://bigelowsociety.com/rod/uria4682.htm
Do you have an email address for W.D. Pierce? (Note & References [1] )  Maybe you could forward this to him for me.
My G.G. Grandfather was also named William Albert Pierce (est birth 1840) Perhaps a grandson of your Abigail's brother of the same name.  I know that his second wife was Mary Ann and that he died in TX.
I would snail mail him but I'm going to Texas on Sunday and will drive to Bridgeport TX which is where W.A. owned property that he left his estate. Thanks

I would like to inquire about a small, sweet water color I've had for over 30 years.  The signature is Folger A Bigelow.  The
piece had been in a garage in Orlando, Florida, for many years before I found it.  I have never investigated the artist until

I saw a reference on your site by a Mr. Knowles to an artist with the same initials.  Can you respond as to whether this

Just discovered the wife of 2 great grandfather, LYDIA BAKER WAITE, is LYDIA BIGELOW BAKER.
Her maternal grandmother was LUCRETIA BIGELOW who married WILLIAM GOULDING.
LYDIA's mother was LYDIA GOULDING. All the previous records I had found on LYDIA simply listed her
as a widow with the name of LYDIA BAKER WAITE. Then I found from an obituary I sent for that she was
listed as LYDIA BIGELOW, widow of GEORGE W. RUSSELL and her tombstone also is inscribed
LYDIA BIGELOW. Here are some vital stats I found on LYDIA and family and from these I found many sites
on the internet leading me to her BIGELOW ancestry. For more.........

Hi Rod,
I recently ran across this e-mail on your web site. I believe it needs to be
corrected as follows:
The Freedom Chamberlain (b. 1697) who married Mary Soule (b. 1698) was the
son of Nathaniel Chamberlain, not Joseph (Nathaniel and Joseph were
brothers). Joseph did have a son named Freedom (b. 1705), who apparently
married a woman named Mary, but it was a different Mary. Scituate, MA
records indicate that Nathaniel Chamberlain's son Freedom was married to
Mary Soule in Pembroke, MA in 1722.

Subject: Hiram Biglow Hill

From: "The Mutherperson" <mutherperson@hotmail.com>
Hi, I am trying to determine if my Elizabeth unknown circa 1810 is related
to Hiram Bigelow who married Lucina Haight. She named her 5th son Hiram
Biglow HILL b.18 Oct 1845. in the 1855 census of New Lebanon, Columbia NY
there is a Hiram B Hill of the correct age living with Hiram Bigelow.
Elizabeth married William HILL from England on 6 OCT 1939, as per family
bible records. I have not found a marriage record. There is a mention of a
daughter Carrie b.24 May 1834. Her last name is HOWLAND but we do not know
if this is married or not. Some speculation that Carrie was born out of
wedlock. Hiram Hill was back home in 1860. His brothers who were 14 and 15
were not at home in 1855 but were there later and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth
was gone by age 12. She joined the Shakers but later married) William Hill
was a miller. Maybe times were tough and these were friends or
apprenticeships that didn't work. Hiram later became a blacksmith in Ancram.
I know you must get tons of e-mail, but perhaps you could keep the name HILL
in mind if you come accross it.

I noticed on this page of the Bigelow Society website, you make reference to my
grandfather and grandmother, James Foster (Foss), and Ruth Bigelow. I also noticed the reference to an e-mail written by my
cousin Tasha Bigelow from 1997. Her father James, my father Steven, and their brother John, are the three children of Ruth and Foss Bigelow. John has a son and a daughter, James had two sons and a daughter, and Steven has two sons, myself and my brother.
Also mentioned in this page is the family shipbuilding operation that was very important to the small community of Canning.
Presently there is a monument in Canning that is dedicated to the Bigelow family and their contribution to the community
throughout its history. I am unsure if it was the Bigelow society that was responsible for erecting this monument.
I hope this information is useful to you, and if you have any questions, I’d be happy to help.

Subject: Bigelow - Paulger- Hawthorne genealogy

From: Paulette Wright    Paultte@aol.com
 Hi,
My name is Paulette Wright and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. I am trying to do
genealogy research for myself and my family. My Mother was Jane Pauler. Her
father was Stanley Paulger, son of Thomas E Paulger. Thomas E Paulger's
father was Thomas Paulger born in 1829 in Nottinghamshire, Lancashire or
Linciolnshire, England. ( In the book Sackett's of America it says that
Thomas was from Notthinghamshire, England but a cousin of mine says that he
was born in Lancashire or Lincolnshire. I do not know which is correct) He
left England in 1849.
Thomas Paulger settled in Redford, Michigan. He married Emily Sackett. I know
that Thomas E Paulger and John Paulger, who married Celia Bigelow.. were
brothers according to the US census. John's and Celia children were Tryphena,
Edna, and Bessie Paulger.
I am trying to find out more about Thomas Paulger from England. I did not
know if the descendants of John Paulger may have some information. Do you
happen to have any information on descendants of the Dewey Hawthorne and
Tryphena Paulger, Edna Paulger and Clayton Nacker, Bessie Paulger and Walter
Nacker, that are living today. I would like to try to contact them.
Any help would be appreciated.
 Thanking you in advance,

Rod:
Before I begin....I must tell you how very much I have enjoyed your website. The area that is written of are of my roots. Thank you for the pleasure.
My curiosity is of Abram BIGELOW b ca 1836 - d 4 Jun 1896 Saranac, Clinton co NY m Elsie .....ca 1855 [1837-1905] #15146.124
In researching Lands Deeds of Chazy Lake. I find Abram very active in land sales.[I believe today he could be called a land speculator]. Researching deeds of my ggrandmother & g aunt I was intrigued when I came across both he and his wife Elsie named in so many land transactions after the CWM Johnson survey 1885/86.
I've read your note that he possibly was living in Dannemora [1869].  In the 1880 Census I find him as an almost neighbor of my g grandmother on what is now Rte 374. Than again thru a deed to my g aunt yr 1887 on what was called Chazy Lake House Rd.  I'm hoping you can add some clarity here.  Was he a Colonel....[listed on some transactions] ?  Who is Edwin Bigelow (see below), is he of that family? [another transaction].
In other words I'm trying to find out who this Abram is, his background, how did he be come the land owner of lands [after the survey] that had been settled by so many folks, some of those who owned by what was considered legitimate deeds of the time.
May I hear from you.  Thanks
Alice

Subject: Howard Bigelow--12th NY Volunteer Cavalry

From: Kenneth Jennings Wooster <woosterk@cortland.edu>
Organization: State University at Cortland

Recently, a Mike Pratt from Lansing, Michigan, who is a distant relative
of Howard Bigelow (see your page at
http://bigelowsociety.com/rod7/lev79818.htm , has called my attention
to the fact that Howard Bigelow's name was apparently erroneously
omitted from the official roster lists of the the 12th NY Volunteer
Cavalry as published by the AGO (Adjutant-General's Office) in the
1890s.

Do you have any additional information on Howard Bigelow?
My web site for the 12th is at
<http://web.cortland.edu/woosterk/12cav.html>.
The relevant pages on the site are:
<http://web.cortland.edu/woosterk/roster_B.html> and
<http://web.cortland.edu/woosterk/maybe.html>.

I'd love to hear from you if you have any additional information. At
least, I hope that you will find something there of interest about
another Bigelow.
