Rod:
I live on Brown's Pond in Staatsburg, New York. Staatsburg is
halfway between Hyde Park and Rhinebeck in Dutchess County.
I am interested in getting the history of the Pond, which is
actually a small lake.  I was told by an old time resident that the Pond had
been an Iron Mine and that he had once seen a map dated in the early
1800's with the mine on it.  The water is rich with iron and is incredibly
deep (about 100 feet) at ten feet from shore.
Do you know anything about this Iron Mine?  And if you
don't, could you point me in the right direction to try to find out about
it?  Thanks. Kathryn

Subject: Research on John(7) Bigelow

From: Marc de Banville <marc@canalvalley.com>
 Dear Rod,

Thank you so much for maintening this site. My name is Marc de Banville,
I am a French documentarist, living in Panama, and working currently on
a 52 minutes documentary about Philippe Bunau-Varilla, who
was a friend of John 7 Bigelow.

I would like to know if you have some documentation on the
John Bigelow/PBV relationship. More precisely, are they prime
sources (letters, writings, interviews) about the crucial november
1903 days and about a previous trip in 1900 to Paris?
Last but not least. Philippe Bunau-Varilla mentionned that
during his 1886 visit to Panama, John Bigelow came in with his daughter
Grace. I looked all around, but it was impossible to me to find
anything else about Grace than a birthdate in August 1852. Who was she?
What happened to her? Was she really with John in 1886 in Panama, or was it
Jane?
If you can help me in this investigation, I would be very pleased.
With my best regards
Yous sincerely,
Marc de Banville

 Hi from New Zealand,
Got your OOOPS message dialing up New Historical Information, and wondered if I can get through to any
new info as cited?
I am David Robert Bigelow, son of Robert Bigelow, son of Scott Bigelow of Poughkeepsie, NY State.
I have very much appreciated the various links to get info on the thirteenth century. Any tips to zero in on
any new documents welcome. My last thorough browse was four months ago.
All the Best

I am trying to find out how we add our names to the Biglow
genealogy? I am the grandaughter of Thomas C. Biglow and I belief he is the son
of Andrew C. Biglow (Bigelow)born 7-1805. I have a copy of the Bigelow bulletin
board and it states Thomas Corwin being married to Mary Chapman and his 2
childrens names and they are the names of my mothers half sister and brother. How do we
go about adding that Thomas Corwin married Nettie Butler after his divorce
from Mary Chapman and they had 6 children?Thanking you in
advance. Babe@kskc.net

Subject:Search your web site

From: "Stan Wickman" <cownabor@htdconnect.com>
Tried to use the search engine that pops up when I click the
link. Susan Mary Capen and Levi Houghton Bigelow both brought me the web
site for GO.COM. ????
I signed your guest book and explained my mission there. L.
H. Brown did an exhaustive survey of the Bigelows and reported his notes in a
letter dated 21 August 1931. I have a copy of the original here. My father
appears in it.
Sometime ago, I visited your web site and learned that
Brown's report had been included for reference. Today, I can find neither hide
nor hair of his report.
What am I doing wrong?
I am having trouble reading his "Notes on the Capen Line"
beginning on page 12 of his report. Has anyone entered this info in your
database? How might I find it? I just met (via email) a descendent of Levi Houghton
BIGELOW and Susan Mary CAPEN. I had hoped to be able to refer him to the
page on which these data appear.
I shall refer him anyway to your web site, but I am curious
as to the present state of affairs. Several of the links I tried found
the target is missing.

Subject: Joel Fay married two Bigelow women

From: lindakaufman@earthlink.net
Hi there!  I am writing because I was running a search at
genealogy.com on Joel, and came up with this:

Joel Fay
Bigelow, Humphrey (6) = hum63215.htm
    Aug 1830; m 2 Nov 1818 Joel Fay of Sutton. 15321.55
Hannah
Sutton, MA; m 12 June 1833 Joel Fay, her sister's
widower. 15321.5Bt
when I tried the link at
/hum63215.htm
I got a "dead link" message.  Then I went into the mother
directory, but I could not find a page that looked similar.  So then I went
to your
main page, and couldn't find what I wanted.

Now I am writing to you.

Could you tell me or give me a link to what you know of this
man and this marriage and the offspring thereof?  I have a page on
him at
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~fayfamily/joelhenry.html
but I am always interested in further information.  AND I
would like to find his daughter Mariah.
