Subject: Info on Rose

From: Colleen Kurka <jxc94@optonline.net>
I am a descendant of Flora Lawry's brother William Lawry and I am doing my
family tree .....I was wondering if you could help me with some questions
I may have??
I am looking for more information on Flora Lawry's father Ebenezer
Morton Lawry....I don't know who his parents were or siblings...as well Flora's
mother Elizabeth Gallager or Elizabeth James (don't know her last name)??
If there is any way you can help me answer these questions, I would
be eternally grateful...I have been searching for this information for a
LONG time.....
If you don't know this information but someone else in your family
does, could you please forward this letter to them??
I am researching the geneaology of my family and I found my gr aunt's name
on your website. Apparantly, my gr grandfather (William Lawry)
was Flora Lawry's brother.....and we know that Flora Lawry's daughter
was Rosanna Hoffer-Bigelow......
Does anyone in your family have information on Flora Lawry or her parents?
Was Rosanna's brothers and sisters from the same father (Wm
Hoffer) or did Flora Lawry re-marry when she got to Novia Scotia? I have
more questions but the main one is Flora Lawy's parents....I am
trying to get back further in the family tree and can't. Any help would
be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time...the website is great!!
THANKS! Colleen Kurka
Note:
In 1997, I received an email from Tasha Bigelow from Acadia University. She
stated her father's name was James Robert Bigelow, mother Barbara June (Wilson).
Her Grandparents were Ruth and Foster Bigelow. Foster's father was named
James Bigelow. This family used to own and run shipyard at Canning, NS many
years ago. Her parents now live in Blomidon. My suspicion is this is Tasha's
family line.
From another source, wife of James Foster was Linda Cox, with child James
Bigelow marrying Penny _____ ; They had a son named Shawn Basil Bigelow, b
1978.............................ROD

Mr: Bigelow:
I noticed on this page of the Bigelow Society website, you make reference
to my
grandfather and grandmother, James Foster (Foss), and Ruth Bigelow. I also
noticed the reference to an e-mail written by my
cousin Tasha Bigelow from 1997. Her father James, my father Steven, and their
brother John, are the three children of Ruth and Foss Bigelow. John has a
son and a daughter, James had two sons and a daughter, and Steven has two
sons, myself and my brother.
Also mentioned in this page is the family shipbuilding operation that was
very important to the small community of Canning.
Presently there is a monument in Canning that is dedicated to the Bigelow
family and their contribution to the community
throughout its history. I am unsure if it was the Bigelow society that was
responsible for erecting this monument.
I hope this information is useful to you, and if you have any questions, I’d
be happy to help.
Sincerely,
Jeffrey Scott Bigelow
