Abram is listed on the 1860 census for NY as follows: Abram - CLI - 897 - Plattsburgh. There is also a grave stone in Saranac, Clinton co, NY that has Abram Bigelow (1836-1896) and wife Elsie (1837-1905), and son Willie A. son of Abram and Elsie; died June 30, 1873; aged 5 yrs. 11 mos + 13 days. There is also an A. Bigelow notated on a map of Dannemora, NY dated 1869. He occupied a lot on the north side of Bouck Street, in the middle of the block, with E.J. White on his left and W.M. Graves on his right. I don't know if this is Abram or not. In my research I have found no Abram in this area mentioned in the Bigelow Genealogy.

Before I begin....I must tell you how very much I have enjoyed your
website. The area that is written of are of my roots. Thank you for the
pleasure.
My curiosity is of Abram BIGELOW b ca 1836 - d 4 Jun 1896 Saranac,
Clinton co NY m Elsie .....ca 1855 [1837-1905] #15146.124
In researching Lands Deeds of Chazy Lake. I find Abram very active
in land sales.[I believe today he could be called a land speculator]. Researching
deeds of my ggrandmother & g aunt I was intrigued when I came across
both he and his wife Elsie named in so many land transactions after the
CWM Johnson survey 1885/86.
I've read your note that he possibly was living in Dannemora [1869]
(see above). In the 1880 Census I find
him as an almost neighbor of my g grandmother on what is now Rte 374. Than
again thru a deed to my g aunt yr 1887 on what was called Chazy Lake House
Rd. (see below) I'm hoping you can add
some clarity here. Was he a Colonel....[listed on some transactions]
? Who is Edwin Bigelow (see below),
is he of that family? [another transaction].
In other words I'm trying to find out who this Abram is, his background,
how did he be come the land owner of lands [after the
survey]that had been settled by so many folks, some of those who owned
by what was considered legitimate deeds of the time.
May I hear from you. Thanks
Alice

My hope was that you might have had some background on Abram.
He certainly had his name on enough land
transaction documents.
GGrandmother is Victoria Ladue [LEDOUX} whose husband, my GGrandfather,
Leandre LEDOUX. [served in the Civil
War and was killed in action at the "Battle of the Wilderness in May
1864]. It was in 1887, lot 57 on the Johnson Survey
Map, that was conveyed to her by Abram & wife Elsie.
G Aunt is Angeline [Angela] LEDOUX, sister of Leandre, and wife of
Moise ST-GERMAIN. What is interesting here.
Abram & Elsie deeded to Angeline in 1886 for $1.00 [Moise died
yr recorded 1887] a parcel of their property on "Chazy
Lake Rd" lot 15 [Johnson Survey].
This search all began when I found a recorded deed of property thought
legally purchased by my GGrandfather
Leandre from a Lunds U Pike for a sum, year 1860. This
land included Eagle Point !!!!.... Most likely it was on this
land where GGrandparents Victoria & Leandre Ledoux
lived originally. The survey in 1885 changed her
circumstances & from what I've read, most possibly Moise &
Angeline Ledoux St-Germain made their home on the same
property. Apparently this became all null & void because of landowner
conflict... the survey.... sale by the state and then Abram
Bigalow is in the picture.
