Grandaughter Caroline Foote
wrote: her birth certificate was probably lost in the San
Francisco earthquake and fire of 1906. Her family knew she was
born in San Francisco, and that is stated in obituaries. I also
have copies of letters from her mother to relatives on the East Coast
written in San Francisco only a few weeks after this birth.
Caroline also wrote: Henry Marcus Edmonds was my grandfather
and although his birth certificate cannot be found to prove it, I am
convinced his name was Harry. I also have two legal documents
signed by him as "Harry".
