15133.    Charles 5 BIGELOW, son of Joseph 4 (John 3,Samuel 2, John1) and Martha (BRIGHAM) BIGELOW , was born 22 April 1729 in that part of Shrewsbury later set off as Boylston, Worcester county, MA. He was married on 23 December 1760 to Lucy BENNETT, daughter of Jonathan and Martha (HARRIS) BENNETT. She was baptised in Shrewsbury 19 November 1741. They lived in Boylston. He died there 20 November 1782. We have no record of his wife's death. At his death, inventory of the estate amounted to £177-18-9.

Biglo, Charles, Private, Capt. John Maynard's Co., Col. Job Cushing's regt.; marched to Hadley by order of Col. Denney on an alarm at Bennington Aug.21, 1777; discharged Aug 23, 1777; service, 3 days. Roll dated Shrewsbury.

15133.2    Andrew, b 24 Apr 1764; d 1834 in Boylston, MA; m (1) 1785 Sarah Fawcett, and after her death (2) 18 Oct 1806 Mrs Lydia Whitney. Total, 15 children.

15133.3    Joseph, b 15 Apr 1766; d 17 May 1845 Fitzwilliam, NH; married unknown date, Lucy Whitney. 9 children.

15133.4    Charles, b 01 Jan 1768; d _ Jan 1827 Lancaster, MA; m 24 July 1803 Sarah Moore; res Northborough, Lancaster, and Grafton. 8 children.

15133.5    Asahel , b 27 Nov 1769; d ca 1834 Alfred, ME; m 07 Apr 1799 Mary Clark; 1 daughter.

15133.6    Lucy, b 13 Jan 1772; no death date; m ____ Prescott.

15133.7    Solomon, b 16 Sept 1774; d 20 Aug 1841 Medfield, MA (recorded at Sherborn); m (1) 09 Apr 1801 Lydia Haven, and after her death, (2) 15 Mar 1810 Julia Russell. 10 children.

15133.8    Mary, b 15 July 1779; d 03 Sept 1834 Worcester, MA; m (intention 27 Dec 1800 at Wayland, MA) Dr. Joseph Dix. 3 children, the eldest being the philanthropist and reformer, Dorothea Lynde Dix.

15133.9    John, b 29 Aug 1781; went west, and was never heard from again.

15133.A    James. Family members say there was a son James who was a merchant in Boston, graduated from some college, died in Boston unmarried, and is buried there. Research fails to reveal any fact to corroborate these statements.
