Wilson 8 BIGELOW


16251.277      Wilson 8 BIGELOW, son of Jonathan 7 ( James 6 , James 5 , James 4 , Jonathan 3, Joshua 2, John 1), and Melissa (ABBE) BIGELOW, was born at St Albans, Somerset co, ME on 10 January 1842. His first marriage was on 27 September 1866 to Esther Lothrop. Esther was the daughter of Sullivan and Susan (Bigelow) Lothrop - 16251.24. This marriage ended in divorce in 1876. Esther was born 11 July 1840 in St. Albans, ME and died at Skowhegan, ME in 1933 (one report says d Sacramento, Sacramento co, CA (see below)). He married second on 27 August 1882 Lydia Ann Morrell (Morrill?), who was the daughter of Americus and Sarah (Philbrick) Morrill. Wilson died at St. Albans on 25 March 1904. Lydia had died 01 May 1904. Wilson enlisted 16 September 1861 in Co D; 9 Me Rgt. Vols, and was honorably discharged from same 31 December 1863; reenlisted in same 01 January 1864, and was hon, discharged 11 February 1865; Declaration on file Bigelow Society Library.

Esther Lothrup, wife of Wilson Bigelow, died at age 94.  Newspapers took pictures of her picking blackberries at age 89 and article said she was alert until she died.

Comments: A very nice website! My grandfather was Thomas Hartford Bigelow, a brother to Americus Bigelow. Tom was married to Lillian Corson and Mack to Cora ??. Many a day in the sunny hills of Concord, Me. I say again a wonderful site.
