(Elmer and Yolande Bigelow 01 Jan 2003)
"Joseph 8 Bigelow in 1881 age 53 living in
Muskoka, Ontario and married to Elizabeth age 52 with children:
Benjamin 19, Hannah 17, Washington 13 and Alexander age 11. Elmer
and Yolande Bigelow assumed Elizabeth was 2nd wife, but not sure.
Census also lists Joseph as born in Quebec and as French. Other
information they had said he was born in St. Blais, Quebec.
Yolande said she knows St. Blaise used to be called St. Blais sur
Richelieu and no longer exists. She believes two other sites may
be in the immediate area, St. Jeann sur Richelieu and Iberville.
Elmer is grandson of Washington, son of Joseph. Washington's
children were Cora Schmidt, Wellington Bigelow (unm), Ellen, Joseph,
Mary Rowe, Edward, Lillian Dolstrom, and Louis Kendal. Louis
Kendal had: Raymond, Wilbur, and Elmer M. Bigelow (Elmer married
Yolande Dube)".

Gives Obituary for Yolande (Dube) Bigelow:
YOLANDE BIGELOW On Monday, February 18, 2008, after a lengthy
illness, Yolande
Bigelow (Dube), aged 62, passed away peacefully with her husband Elmer
and sister
Annette by her side. Yolande was born in Kelvington, SK, but moved to
The Pas, MB, at an
early age. It was there that she met and married the love of her life,
Elmer. Shortly after
marriage, the couple moved to Thompson, MB, where they raised their
three children.
Yolande was a stay at home mom for many years. Upon going back to work,
Yolande
juggled family, career and education, with the emphasis on family.
Yolande proudly
obtained her CGA designation. Yolande and Elmer both worked for Inco in
Thompson and
retired from there in 1992 to start the next chapter in their lives as
resort owners. They
spent nine exciting summers operating the Betula Lake Resort while
living out their dream
of travelling in the winters. Shortly after retiring from the resort in
2002, Yolande became ill.
Yolande was predeceased by her son Robert, parents Gabriel and Rose
Dube, parents in-
law Ken and Molly Bigelow, nephew Jason Neskar, brother-in-law Ray
Bigelow, sisters-in-
law, Marie Bigelow and Trudy Dube. Yolande was very much loved and will
be deeply
missed by her husband, children, Alan (Jenn) Bigelow, Cheryl (Allan)
Adolph, Carol (Brian)
Taylor, grandchildren, Tyrel, Kaitlyn, Kira, Tianna, Benjamin and
Mackenzie, her brother
Alphonse, and sisters, Pauline (Jim) Hawes, Helen (Carl) Pitura, Denise

service will be held
at 11 :00 a.m. on Friday, February 22 at Sobering Funeral Chapel, 1035
Park Avenue East,
Beausejour, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the
Manitoba Lung
Association, 629 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3A OCB. Robert has
waited patiently
and now, it is his turn to be with his mom. You will always be in our
thoughts and hearts
