15336.5437      Marjorie "Margory" 9 BIGELOW, dau of Elijah 8 ( Ebenezer 7 , Cornelius 6 , Paul 5 , Cornelius 4, Samuel 3, Samuel 2, John1)  and Aurelia (BIGELOW) BIGELOW, was born at Buckingham, Papineau, Quebec on 01 March 1866. She married on 17 November 1882 Joseph Sibary. He was born in January 1862 in England. Rilly (Marjorie's mother) lived with their daughter Rachel in Slagle township (1900 census), then with daughter Marjorie in Luther, and after 1915 with their youngest son Elijah Bigelow in East Jordan. Joseph Sibary, was an apple-grower of Luther, MI. He died in 1945 in Luther, Ellsworth co, MI.   Marjorie died 12 April 1946 at Luther Lake, MI. 11 children. At her death, Marjory left 101 descendants.

From: Dennis Allen.  My grandmother was Bernice Winfred Sibary b: Sept. 8, 1905 Luther, Michigan d: Jan. 16, 1990, Muskegon MI
I found a 1920 census sheet filled with Sibary records, Bigelow records, and my grandfather Louis Allen (before he married Bernice).  I also found that the brother of Marjorie Bigelow, Henry William Bigelow, had a daughter Maud Bigelow b: Feb. 1890 Canada.  Maud was the second wife to my other great grandfather, Charles Summer Allen (I'm a descendant from his first wife Sadie Pince).
I have census records on some of the kids and grandkids of Elijah, Henry William, Marjorie and Maud Bigelow.
We had the Allen family reunion. Got a box of old photos from grandma, Bernice W Sibary. Here's some images you might want...Dennis

Did you ever find out about the photo of Marjorie Bigelow Sibary?  Just came back from a visit to Luther, Lake County, Michigan.  Visited the closest four cemeteries.  In the Northside cemetery I found a row of Sibary, including Joseph & Maggie Bigelow.  Another row had Hastings, from another daughter.  Did you want a photo of their tombstone?
I couldn't find any Allen or Bigelow.  Would anyone know if any Allen or Bigelow is buried near Luther?  Maybe in Cadillac?  Are there any Bigelow still living in the area?  Just wondering...Dennis

"Leonard 'Jay' Bigelow:  Age 74, of Owosso, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Memorial Healthcare.
   Jay worked at Oak Hill Cemetery for 21 years, and also at the Foundry in Owosso.
   The funeral service will be at New Life Worship Center, formerly the Owosso United Pentecostal Church at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Ron Hall and the Rev. Gene Numerick officiating.  Burial will be in Riverside West Cemetery.  Visitation at Jennings-Lyons Funeral Chapel will be today from 4 to 8 p.m.
   Jay was born Sept. 20, 1932, in Owosso, to Elmer and Lila Bell (Sibary) Bigelow, and had been a life-long Owosso resident.  On July 13, 1960, he married Nancy Lee Silvers in Owosso.
   Survivors include: wife, Nancy of Owosso; son, Tim Bigelow of Kansas; daughter, Heidi (Joe Lapke) Stover of Owosso; son, Aaron (Christ) Bigelow of Clearwater, Fla.; daughters, Beth (Gene) Numerick of Owosso, Marcia Haines of Owosso; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Cora Hudecek; brother, Orville (Sandy) Bigelow; numerous nieces, nephews; beloved in-laws; friends and his church family.
   He was predeceased by: parents; one grandson; and 10 siblings.

First and foremost let me congratulate you and thank you for all of the information that you have compiled on your site. It has helped me in tracing my family tree.  I am the great(2)-grandson of Marjorie(9) (Bigelow) Sibary and Joseph Sibary.  I noticed on your site that the names of their grand-children by Irene M. Sibary and John Percy Hastings are not complete/correct.  My grandfather Joseph Henry Hastings and his Brothers George and John should be on there.  Just thought I would try to contribute a little.  Again, Thank you so much for your hard work. I also have a question.  I was told that Marjorie was part Native.  Do you know if that is true?
