Arnon J. 9 BIGELOW


1592C.1529      Arnon J. 9 BIGELOW, son of John Emerson 8 ( Ebenezer 7 , Ebenezer 6Amasa 5 , Isaac 4, Isaac 3, Samuel 2, John1 and  Hannah (BLENKHORN) BIGELOW, was born 13 December 1880 at Canning, Nova Scotia. He married at St. John, New Brunswick, on 25 June 1908 Laura May Miller, daughter of John and Mary Jane (Mattatall) Miller. Arnon was in the Canadian Medical Corp during WWII, and a Pharmacist in Nova Scotia.  Laura May was born 24 August 1878 at Londonderry, Columbia co, Nova Scotia. She died 23 April 1949 at Canning, Kings co, Nova Scotia. Arnon had died 11 February 1926 also at Canning, NS.

Obituary for Margaret (Bigelow) Newcombe, RN age 91, Canning and Kentville, [NS] died 28 Sept 2000 in Pereaux.  Born April 18 1909 in Canning, she was the only child of the late Arnon and Laura (Miller) Bigelow.  After graduating as a registered nurse in New Jersey she returned to Nova Scotia to marry.  She ws a member of the United Church of Canada, Kentville.  She was involved for many years with the U.C.W., the Girl Guides of Canada, the V.O.N. and the Liberal Party of Nova Scotia.  She greatly enjoyed bridge and was an avid player.  She is survived by her daughter, Diane (John) Wilson, Iroquois, Ont. and son Terry (Jean) Falmouth.  She is also survived by grandsons in Ontario, Ian, Simon and Christopher Wilson; Jim Newcombe, Hantsport; Laura Newcombe, Nfld; a niece and two nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Delancey Newcombe in 1973.  No visitation.  Funeral service to be held 2 p.m. Sunday, October 1, in the Trinity United Church, Canning, Rev. David Hewitt officiating.  Reception to immediately follow service.  Private family committal in Elmgrove Cemetery, Centreville.  In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Fieldwood Heritage Society, Box 8, Canning, BOP 1HO or charity of your choice would be appreciated.

1592C.15291     Margaret Covert Bigelow, was born 18 April 1909 at Canning, NS. She married 22 October 1932 Delancy Sheffield Newcombe. Delancy was born 27 August 1908 at Upper Dyke Village, Nova Scotia, the son of Alfred Newcomb. Delancy was an Electrician in Nova Scotia and died 12 September 1973 at Kentville, NS. Margaret died 28 September 2000 Pereaux, Nova Scotia.
