William Winants 7 BIGELOW

15336.58      William Winants 7 BIGELOW, son of Cornelius 6 ( Paul 5 , Cornelius 4, Samuel 3, Samuel 2, John1)  and Persis (HARRIS) BIGELOW, was born about 1808, possibly NY (Howe says Canada). He married (1)18 March 1836 in the Church of Scotland at Chatham - Grenville, Quebec, Catherine Sweeney and although she was the mother of two of his children we have no further data on her. He married (2) on 28 December 1841 Mary Sweeney. She was the mother of two more of his children; she was born about 1815. William was a logger/farmer and served with the Chatham Volunteers in 1817. He died at Cushing, Argenteuil, Quebec age 43 and was buried 13 May 1851 at the Church of Scotland cemetery. Mary married again on 17 March 1853 Samuel McAdoo and had four more children.

15336.585t    Caroline Lucinda, b ca 1850; d after 1907; m her cousin Lucius Peter Bigelow (15336.5211) on 14 Nov 1873; res. Glen Almond, Que.; 8 children.
