Timothy 6 BIGELOW


 16313.3     Timothy 6  BIGELOW, son of  Amasa 5 ( David 4 , Lt. John 3 , Joshua 2, John 1), and Jemima (STRONG) BIGELOW, was born 04 February 1761 in Colchester, New London county, CT. He served during the Revolutionary War, following which he moved to Brookfield, Orange county, VT. He married on 28 September 1784 Elizabeth Arnold. She was born 09 August 1766 at ______ . They lived briefly at Brookfield, then settled in Williamstown, where they resided until 1832. Then they came with some of their offspring to Bloomfield, Trumbull county, OH, and there in 1832 Timothy applied for and received a military pension. His wife died 06 February 1837, and he died soon after on 30 July 1838.

16313.34t    Elijah, b 17 Aug 1790; died before 1850; m, at unknown date, Jane Gordon, who in 1850 res Canton, Stark co, OH. Migrated from VT to Ashtabula co, OH, then to Stark co. 5 children.

16313.35t    Jemima, b 31 Mar 1792; d 12 Feb 1859 IL; m _ Sept 1814 John Weed; res IL. 7 children.

16313.36t    Daniel A., b 04 Aug 1797 Williamstown, VT; d 25 Aug 1827 OH; m ____ 1822 Ruth Hillman. 2 sons.

16313.37t    Timothy, b 04 July 1798 Williamstown, VT; d 25 June 1842 West Bloomfield, Trumbull co, OH; m - Sept 1825 Ann Dudley, who died 1833; res West Bloomfield, OH. 3 children.

16313.38t    Amasa, b 22 Aug 1803 Wiliiamstown, VT; d  _ May 1859 MO, but descendants scattered afterwards; m May 1838 Clarissa Orr; res Orwell, Ashtabula co, OH in 1850.

A letter from Walter Bigelow dated 07 Mar 1962 mentions his youngest son, Jack A. Bigelow, a policeman on the Norwood Police force in Norwood, OH and eldest son, Harold l. Bigelow at 839 8th Av., Redwood City, CA.  Walter had information covering 320 years and some money weights and scales that came to this country from England before the Revolutionary war.  His phone # was 631-5042 and his son, 351-0772.  His sister's name. Ruby DeMise of Northport, MI.
