Mills (or Miles) 8 BIGELOW



15336.521      Mills (or Miles) 8 BIGELOW, son of Adam Chester 7 ( Cornelius 6 , Paul 5 , Cornelius 4, Samuel 3, Samuel 2, John1 and Laurene (SMITH ) BIGELOW, was born about 1828 in Chatham township, Argenteuil, Quebec. The family moved to Buckingham about 1830, but shortly after his marriage, Mills returned to Argenteuil county. Remarried 26 February 1845 Elizabeth Warwick. She was the daughter of John and Christiana (Lackie) Warwick and born in Chatham township on 21 August 1828. Mills was named for his maternal grandmother's surname and appears as such in many records and is so remembered by many Buckingham descendants. On the 1861 census, his name is spelled "Miles" and his Pine Hill and MI descendants remember him as such. He used the spelling and pronunciation "Miles". He was a farmer at Pine Hill and died these on 18 February 1904. His widow died at Staynerville at the home of their son William on 21 May 1909. Both are buried at Edina cemetery.

Buckingham to 1899 then MI; 9 children.

15336.5248t    William, b 24 May 1863; d 10 July 1945 Victoria, B.C.; m 25 Dec 1885 Rose Anne Hutchen; res. Quebec, MI, Saskatchewan and B.C.;11 children.

15336.5249t    Charles Colin, b 08 Sept 1868; d 09 Sept 1939 Copemish, Manistee, MI; m 03 Oct 1893 Emma Hale; res. MI after 1886; 6 children.

Hi Rod,You certainly have a great site with a weath of info.I have been researching my Warwick ancesters and have found out that Sam and Elizabeth Warwick,siblings,both married Bigelows.Sam married Marjory Bigelow-8.Elizabeth married Mills
or Miles Bigelow-8.Would you have any additional info on the descendants of these two Bigelows? Many thanks
