In looking at the photo of Charles Bigelow's tombstone on your website, I notice that his mother was Eliza Pishon. My husband's family is related to a Charles and Frederick Pishon of Dresden ME. Charles had a son Hirman that Jerry's mother had communicated with back in the mid 50's while she was doing her research.
We are heading up to ME next week and got her records out to see where we should stop along our way up to PEI and checking her papers and maps on Google.... now to your home page it might all becoming together in our minds... or maybe not! Hoping to hear from you before we leave
Mary Anne wife of Jerry Anderson great grandson of Thomas Jefferson Pishon.

I am looking for Pishon ancestry (in my wife's side), and I saw Eliza Pishon (see above) (b. 1801 in Fairfield ME) on your web site.
Do you know who her parents were?
Thanks, Mark Abramson

More from Mark:
I am now about 95% certain that Eliza Pishon was the daughter of Charles Pishon and Lucy Wyman, who were married 21 Sep 1790 in Lincoln County,
Maine. The 1790 census has Charles living in Canaan, a few entries above a James Bigelow, who I suspect is the one listed on your web site. I realize
this is not conclusive, but the fact that Eliza named her son Charles Pishon Bigelow would seem to indicate a very strong possibility, especially since
Pishon is not a very common name.
Furthermore, my records (obtained from two other Pishon descendants) indicate that Charles and his brother Isaac are the only two sons of Jean Frederick Pechin and his wife, Mary. My wife is a direct descendant of Isaac, and I have a LOT of information on his descendants. Since Eliza is not of them, this is another reason for suspecting Eliza is Charles' daughter.
BTW, Charles Pishon was, in fact, the man who Pishon's Ferry was named after. Mark

Rod:
I want to compliment you on your website efforts. I also wanted to know if you have any documentation or references regarding the connection of Jean Frederick Pishon (Pechin, Peckin, Pitchen) abt 1752 – 1778 to his son Isaac Pishon (1774 – 1830)?
Jean Frederick was the son of Jean George Pishon (Pechin, Peckin, Pitchen) (abt 1717 – 1774).  Jean George arrived in Boston 1752 on the ship Priscilla that sailed from Rotterdam.  Most references of Jean George refer only point to his son Peter Pishon upon his arrival and not any reference to Jean Frederick, who was born after his father’s arrival to Boston what is now Maine.
Jean Frederick was a Veteran of the Revolutionary War, and his son Isaac was a Veteran of the War of 1812.  I can connect Isaac to his son Isaiah and all the rest of the Pishon family members thereafter up to my Grandmother Dorothy Jane Pishon.  However, I have a gap as stated above regarding documentation that Jean Frederick had a son Isaac before he died at Valley Forge in 1778. Jean Frederick Pishon was listed as Frederick Peckin at Valley Forge at the time of his death. I’ve read a couple of Sons of the American Revolution filings connecting Jean Frederick with a son Isaac, but with no documentation was presented as supporting the claim.
Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.
Best Regards,
Edward
