Benjamin F. 7 BIGELOW



16251.39      Benjamin F. 7 BIGELOW, son of George 6 ( James 5 , James 4 , Jonathan 3 , Joshua 2, John 1), and Mary (CLARK) BIGELOW, was born at Bloomfield, Somerset, ME on 06 July 1812. His obituary says born 21 December 1812. He married on 03 November 1836 Louisa "Lisa" Herring. She was born at Skowhegan, Somerset, ME on 24 May 1818. This family moved to Neponset, IL in 1858 and in later years, 1886, into IA. They both died at Onawa, Monona, IA- he on 11 May 1896 (see below) and Louisa on 0l March 1906.

Here is a death notice for Uncle Benjamin F. Bigelow:
"Benjamin F. Bigelow, who died the 11th and was buried yesterday in
the Onawa cemetery, was born in Skowhegan, Somerset county in the
state of Maine on December 21, 1812. He was married on Nov.3, 1836 to
Miss Lisa Herrin of the same place. He came to Bureau county,
Illinois, in 1858 and resided there until the year 1886, when he came
to Franklin township, this county [Monona], where he has resided with
his daughter, Mrs. Barnum, until his death. (Onawa Iowa Democrat.)"
His daughter Ellen M. was the first wife of Parker Kimball, who later
married her cousin Ellen R. Bigelow, daughter of Benjamin F.'s brother
Aholiab, with whom he had three children.
