Samuel Edwin ⁹ BIGELOW

1592C.1374 Samuel Edwin ⁹ BIGELOW, son of William Henry ⁸ ( Samuel ⁷ , Ebenezer ⁶ , Amasa ⁵, Isaac ⁴, Isaac ³, Samuel ², John¹) and Mary Thomasina (PALMER) BIGELOW, was born 05 April 1870 in Port Hope, Durham co, Ontario. He married 07 December 1892 Eccy Lucinda Taylor in Holland, Manitoba. ( another source gives site of marriage as Cypress River, Man.). Eccy was born 05 October 1875/6 at Port Hope, Ont. She was the daughter of James and and Betsy (Stubbs) Taylor. (James 1843-1904); (Betsy 1846-1923). Eccy died 06 February 1965 at Winnipeg, Manitoba. Samuel had also died in Winnipeg 04 February 1951 (another source says died Holland, Man.)

     My name is Darlene E Biglow, and I can start with my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother: Samuel Edwin Biglow Born 1869 Died 1951, married Eccy Lucinda Taylor Born 1875 Died 1965. The e in the Biglow name was thought to have been left off due to no room on grain silo and a possible Italian background has been suggested. They had 8 children: see

4 May 1998, Don Bigelow of Grand Rapids wrote Una Cook, 14300 Trillium Blvd., SE #29, Mill Creek, WA 98012, asking for roots for database etc. Her reply:
"I am Linda Bigelow Hearn's sister. She has article on page 30 of the latest Forge. We have one other sister, Billie Bigelow Stanley. Our father was Victor Bigelow (Samuel Edwin, William Henry, Samuel) so far that's the best we can do. We have not been able to tie Samuel to John Biglo. Hope this is sufficient........regards, Una Cook".

My name is Marlene Revell. My grandfather was Everton Biglow. He was married to Mabel Ann Wadsworth, not Mabel Lampard. Everton parents were Samuel Edwin Biglow and Eccy Lucinda Taylor. Samuel’s parents were William Henry Biglow and Mary Thomisena Palmer. William’s parents were Samuel Biglow and Susannah. Mabel Ann Wadsworth’s parents were William John Wadsworth and Eleanor Francis Coombs.
My mother Alta Lorraine is a daughter to Everton and Mabel Biglow and married John Robert Osborne. I was born March 22, 1956 Marlene Carol Osborne
Any information that you have regarding the Biglow Family prior to Samuel would be very much appreciated.

Harvey Biglow 1911-2007 On April 16, Harvey Biglow passed away peacefully at the St. Michaels Continuing Care in Edmonton. Survived by 2 daughters; Donelda (Gordon) Orrell and Myrna Dreger and their families; also neices and nephews.
