1592C.2655      Clarence Earl 9 BIGELOW, son of Clarence DeWolfe 8 ( Gideon 7 ( John 6 , Amasa 5 , Isaac 4, Isaac 3, Samuel 2, John1)  and  Caroline (STASER) BIGELOW, was born 19 January 1895 at Susanville, Lassen co, CA.  He married Melissa Lillie May Chandler in 1919. No death details on either.

     Jean and Elwin Bigelow of Golden Rain Road are both natives of California. Their former residence was Piedmont. Jean attended UC Berkeley, where she was an Alpha Phi. For about 10 years she was a recreation worker in various hospitals for the American National Red Cross, covering several locations in California. She enjoys handcraft, walking, reading and swimming.
  Elwin is also retired from a career in redevelopment work. In his background is a 15 year career in the Marine Corps. He was taken prisoner by the Japanese in Corregidor and spent about three and a half years under confinement between Corregidor and Japan. He enjoys swimming, golf, lawn bowling, reading, walking and good music.
     Of their twin sons, one is in Walnut Creek and the other, Atascadero. A third son lives in Salt Lake City, while their daughter resides in Los Altos.

     Memorial services for Earl Alexander "Alex" Bigelow are scheduled for 11 am on Thursday, July 1 at Piedmont Community Church. Rev. Samuel Lindamood and Rev. Bob Barram will lead the memorial.
     The tragic death of the 22 year old UC engineering student occurred last weekend at his Berkeley apartment. He was a member of Kappa Delta Rho fraternity.
     Son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwin Bigelow of Bonita Avenue, survivors, in addition to his parents, include twin brothers Keith and Kirk, both students at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. He was the grandson of Mrs. L. R. Becker, Oakland, and the late Mr. and Mrs. R.A. Alexander, Piedmont.
     Following his December graduation, young Bigelow planned to marry Miss Jodie Crinnion. Theie engagement had not yet been announced. In lieu of flowers, a Bigelow Memorial Fund has been established, c/o William H. Knight, Supt. Piedmont Unified School District.
