I have
been tracing one of my cousins. Another contributor has found
information that Laura Bigelow
July 1920 was adopted by my uncle Martin Revere Chapman at the age of
3. There is very little we have found but there is a paper where she
wrote to the Kansas Dept of Health in 1938 that was found in his attic
recently. It showed at age 18 she was told she was adopted in
Kansas and had many older siblings. She was never able to receive any
information from any of the places she wrote . Her adopted name (if
verified ) was Betty Jane Chapman adopted by Martin R. Chapman and
Grace C. Connelly 23 June 1924.
We believe that the #10 child Laura on your page might be her. The
information we have is on public trees on Ancestry under the two
Chapman names. My tree name is Fowler/Chapman. Maybe this would help
others who follow you in their search.

I wrote you about Wm Henery Bigelow. I have a little more info.
His
wife was Nellie Bird Kierse, They had ten children, not in order
John, Forest, Howerd, Harold, Leo, Ivan Rae, Mary, Nellie, Lora. I
don't know
much about them. I know John, which was my father was born in
Oklahoma. Forest was born in Kansas.That is all I can find out would
appreciate any info.you can come up
The only one's still living that I know of is Forest and myself.
Forest lives in
Centerville, Iowa He didn't know who his grandparents were.You were a
great help.

My name is Dalah Elijah and I am the granddaughter of Eva Faye
Bigelow who was born in Kansas, I do not know the town. One of
her brothers, Forest Bigelow, my great uncle, just recently passed away
and he lived in Centerville, Iowa. I have tried to access a lot
of your links but they seem to be broken. I am very interested to
know if you have any information on either one of my family
members. I do know
that Eva had sisters that were adopted out but I do not know their
names. Any information that you could provide would be greatly

Hello, My name is Helen Hunt Listerman. My mother
was Eva Fay Bigelow Hunt and father Ray Otto Hunt. I received
some
information from my niece Dalah Elijah that she had been in touch with
you concerning family. I copied the information that she sent on
the William Henry Bigelow linage and I will have to look up some
information
from Mom's records but some that I see with just a short look at it has
some things wrong. Mom and Dad had eleven children, not
nine
as it states and Lena the baby sister (mom's) died around l8
months
old, not at birth. I will get the information on Forrest of when
he passed and burial. I
am
currently waiting for information from the childrens home in Kansas
where
some of the Bigelow children was placed. It is now a correctional
facility but they still have the records. It is always good to
hear
from family and find that I have a new cousin out there
somewhere.
