BIGELOW, was born at Tecumseh, Ontario on 22 November 1830 and
married
31 January 1863 Lydia Jane Bateman. She was the daughter of George and
Elizabeth
(Penrose) Bateman and born in Mariposa, Ontario on 03 February
1843.
She died in Lindsay, Ontario on 12 March 1881. Some time after
his
father's death, Silas and his brother Obadiah formed a partnership to
continue
their father's general mercantile business and continued for 30 years
when
they both retired. Lydia died at Lindsay on 12 March 1881 and he
there
on 07 March 1895.
