Joel ⁶ BIGELOW

16228.3 Joel ⁶ BIGELOW, son of Joel ⁵ ( Benjamin ⁴ , Jonathan ³ , Joshua ², John ¹), and Abigail (CALL) BIGELOW, was born 13 Nov 1779 at Springfield, Windsor county, VT. He married, on 31 Oct 1802 Cynthia Fisk, daughter of John and Levine Fisk. She was born Grand Isle, VT 10 May 1783. Her father John Fisk was High Constable of the Home District of Upper Canada (Ontario), and was lost on board the schooner Speedy en route from York to Newcastle (he was conducting a prisoner to be tried), the vessel and all on board being lost in a storm. Joel Bigelow lived in Newmarket, a village in the township of East Gwillimbury. He was preparing himself for the ministry in the Methodist Church when he died on 27 Jan 1806. Cynthia hls widow died at Newmarket 8 Sep 1846.
