Gershom 4, John 3, Samuel 2, John 1) and Mary
(HOWE) BIGELOW, was born 25 April 1795 at Marlborough,
Middlesex, MA and married 15 April 1819 Jane Brigham the daughter of
Jedediah and Lydia (Boyd) Brigham, born at Marlborough 23 April
1798. They moved to Boxborough, MA where he engaged in the
mercantile business and quickly became a citizen in the town; was a
Selectman for many years and represented the town in the General
Court and served in many other town offices. He was also postmaster
for a long time and died at Boxborough 13 March 1842 (aged 47). His
widow survived him over forty years and died in Norwood, MA 26
January 1886 (aged 88).
