Van Rensselaer 7 BIGELOW



16164.44    Van Rensselaer 7 BIGELOW, son of Jonathan Oakes 6( Nathan 5 , John 4 , Joshua 3, Joshua 2, John 1), and Philandra (CLARK) BIGELOW, was born at Peru, Clinton, NY on 12 March 1806 and married at unknown date, Abigail Perry (or Terry). She was born circa 1812 in VT and died 22 June 1876 at Lyons township, Ionia, MI  aged 64. This family was in Franklin county, NY in 1850 and in the 1860's was in CA. Van Rensselaer was a plasterer and mason. He died in Ionia county, MI, on 18 April 1880. There are unconfirmed reports of Rensselaer being involved in the Underground Railroad in New York State. His contacts are believed to be Bigelows in Troy, NY. His brother  Austin, was also involved in helping runaway slaves in Keeseville, NY.

16164.445t    Elisha Terry, b 28 Nov 1848 NY; d 28 April 1890 Ionia co.; m 12 March 1877 Anna Margaret Wright; 6 children.

16164.446t    Henry Nelson (Harry Nelson), b 09 Jan 1863 Ionia co.; d 06 May 1917 Grand Rapids, Kent. MI; m (1) Mary Elliott, (2) Anna Elliott; 3 children.

There could possibly be other children between Elisha and Henry due to the 14 year span.
