Joseph 5 BIGELOW

15131.    Joseph 5 BIGELOW, son of Joseph 4 (John 3,Samuel 2, John1) and Martha (BRIGHAM) BIGELOW , was born 9 Nov 1726 in that part of Shrewsbury later set off as Boylston, Worcester county, MA. He married, on 20 Dec 1749, Olive BEAMAN. She was born 19 Oct 1733, daughter of Jabez BEAMAN. Joseph jr. was a prominent man in Shrewsbury, and held various town offices. He served in the local militia, was commissioned a Captain on 11 Oct 1759, and saw duty in both the French-and-Indian War and the Revolution. He died in Boylston 29 Nov 1801. His wife died 26 Jun 1810.

Joseph BIGELOW whose dau Annis married in 1791 Benjamin KEYES, b 4/15/1768.
Annis & Benjamin were my 4th gr grandparents, I think. Also, I note from Bigelow records that Reuben KEYES married in 1790, Olive BIGELOW also dau of Joseph BIGELOW. Benjamin & Annis (Bigelow) Keyes had 6 children: Artemas, b 1794; Olive Beaman, b 1796; Annice(?) b 1801; Rufus, b 1804; and Elizabeth Maria, born 2/28/1816???? in West Boylston. Birth records list her mother as Annis Smith and no father??? My great grandfather did this research in MA before 1900; no sources mentioned.
