# 15198.9 James 6 BIGELOW, son of Josiah 5, (Jotham 4, John 3, Samuel 2, John 1) and Sarah (CULVER) BIGELOW, was born 1 Mar 1899 at Guilford, Windham county, VT. When he was but a year old, the family moved to Pompey, Onondaga county, NY. James moved to Canada circa 1822, taught school for a time, and then settled on a farm at East Flamboro, Wentworth county, Ontario. According to Howe's Bigelow genealogy, he married on 19 Dec 1826, Eunice Springer, daughter of John and Sarah Springer. He died 18 Apr 1847, leaving a large family. She was born 17 Sep 1802 and died his widow in 1879. A family Bible extant 1985 gives substantially the same information as in Howe's Bigelow genealogy, but the dates differ slightly.
