Ephraim 6 BIGELOW

 16251.6     Ephraim 6  BIGELOW, son of  James 5 ( James 4 , Jonathan 3 , Joshua 2, John 1), and Mary (SAWYER) BIGELOW, was born 23 March 1772 at Templeton, Worcester county, MA. His family moved to Maine, and there he married (1) 1796 Esther Coburn. She was born 10 January 1764 at Dracut, MA, and died at Canaan 16 January 1846. (buried with Israel's family in the Skowhegan South Cem.) They were divorced, and Ephraim moved to western New York and northwestern Ohio; In later life he said that during the naval battle on Lake Erie, he could hear the sounds of gunfire as he labored on his farm. He married (2)12 January 1812 Nancy Frink, daughter of Jabez and Eunice (Starks) Frink. She was born 23 January 1778 at Stonington, CT. They lived in Lorain county, OH, near Columbia. Ephraim died there 10 January 1838; Nancy died 24 May 1861.
