Obituary Delores E. Sorensen, 94, entered into glory and the presence of Jesus on January 12, 2008. Her homecoming was peaceful and gentle, just as her life was reflected.
Delores Elizabeth Bigelow was born March 23, 1913 at

Always striving to “train up a child in the way he should go and when he
is old he will not depart from it” (Proverbs 22:6). She was a godly mother,
grandmother and great grandmother.
Delores is survived by her husband of 73 years, Charles; daughter, Joan (Loren)
Brekke, of Hanska, MN; son, Thomas of Sioux Falls; three granddaughters,
Lori (Brian) Schouvieller, Oakdale, MN; Cali (John) Schmidt of St. James,
MN; and Kristi (Bradley) Paulson of Lakeville, MN; 9 great grandchildren,
Nathan, Daniel, and Abigail Schouvieller; Olivia, Nora, and Charles Schmidt;
Kade, Lydia, and Jack Paulson; and a host of relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, two brothers, Darwell Bigelow, Darrell Bigelow,
and two sisters, Vivadale Voss and Earlene (Golden) Stinson, preceded Delores
in death.

Obituary Charles M. Sorensen
of Sioux Falls, SD

Sioux Falls - Charles M. Sorensen, entered into the presence of his Lord
and Savior Jesus Christ on April 16, 2008. His homecoming was quiet and gentle,
exactly as the man it reflected.
Charles M. Sorensen was born on a farm near Lily, SD to Fred and Frieda (Grube)
Sorensen on September 3, 1912. He attended country school for the first grade
and the family moved to a farm near Webster, SD where he attended Webster
schools.
Upon graduation from high school in 1932, Charles continued his education
through accounting correspondence courses and was also employed by the Standard
Oil Company where he served on their labor relations board. Charles was united
in marriage with Delores Bigelow on November 29, 1934. In 1936, he established
a Standard Oil dealership in Aberdeen, SD which he owned and operated for
6 1/2 years. While in Aberdeen, Charles served as Agency Manager for the
Minneapolis Star Journal Tribune from 1938-1942. In 1942, Charles was commissioned
deputy collector of Internal Revenue Services and transferred to Sioux Falls,
SD. Spending 35 years with the U.S. Treasury Department, with the exception
of 25 months in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. Charles retired
December 31, 1977. At his retirement, the Federal Government awarded Charles
the Albert Gallatin Award for his service in the United States Department
of the Treasury. After making two trips to Europe, Charles´ story appeared
in the book "Stories, Vol 1: Northern Plaines Adventures" by Anson
Yeager, and recounted his adventure tracing his family genealogy and heritage
in Denmark and former East Germany.
He was an active member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he served
as Auditor for sixteen years, Sons of Norway, Izaak Walton League, DAV, NARFE
(National Association of Retired Federal Employees), American Legion, and
60 year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks - Brookings
Lodge.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Joan (Loren) Brekke of Hanska, MN; son,
Thomas of Sioux Falls; three granddaughters, Lori (Brian) Schouvieller of
Oakdale, MN; Cali (John) Schmidt of St. James, MN; and Kristi (Bradley) Paulson
of Lakeville, MN; nine grandchildren, Nathan, Daniel and Abigail Schouvieller;
Olivia, Nora and Charles Schmidt; Kade, Lydia, and Jack Paulson; and a host
of relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his wife of
73 years, Delores; two brothers, infant Johnny and Fred, Jr.; and two sisters,
Emma Gast and Marie Westover.
