Lois Leona 9 BIGELOW



16167.3496      Lois Leona 9 BIGELOW, dau of Moses Willard 8 ( Asa Elijah 7 , Nahum 6 , Simeon 5 , John 4 , Joshua 3, Joshua 2, John 1), and Amy Ilene (ALLRED) BIGELOW, was born at Panguitch, Garfield County, UT on 30 May 1917. She graduated from Garfield County High School in 1935 and went on to attend BYU, U of U, and Arizona State Teachers College. She received her BS Degree from BYU in 1939 and in 1970 she received her Masters of Education Degree from BYU. She taught Kindergarten for forty-one years. She had such a great love for children. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa International Sorority for women teachers and served on the State and National level. She was also very active in the organizations associated with her profession and served as President of the UEA. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many auxiliaries. She served a mission to North Central States in 1946 and later with her sister Donna in 1970 to Ventura, California and two short temple missions.
Lois is survived by her sister Donna Bigelow who was her life-long friend and companion, with whom she traveled throughout the world. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Bonnie Bigelow, and numerous nieces and nephews who were also blessed to frequently travel with her. She was unmarried. Lois Leona Bigelow passed away peacefully at Apple Tree Assisted Living Center in Kaysville, Utah in her sleep after a wonderfully full life.
