Emerson 9 BIGELOW


15182.4D22         Emerson 9 BIGELOW, son of Charles Emerson 8 ( Charles Dana  7 , Gershom 6 , Ivory 5 , Gershom 4, John 3, Samuel 2, John 1) and Isabella (LYALL) Dean BIGELOW, was born at New York City, NY on 26 January 1896. He married 25 October 1917 Marian Thatcher Feustman in NYC, NY. She was born 23 May 1893 San Luis Potosi, Mexico, the daughter of Leon Philip and Josephyne (Thatcher) Feustman. She died 02 May 1987 at Washington, DC. Emerson had died 11 January 1966 at Washington, DC. Both are buried in National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. Emerson was a Financil Consultant and Foreign Exchange Expert. He served in WWI as an Ensign in the US Navy and in WWII in the OSS.

15182.4D222t    John Emerson 10 Bigelow, b 03 Dec 1925 New York City; d 14 January 2003; m 24 February 1962 Yvette Claudette Le Duc de Lerguenou, born Brittany, France.  They had one daughter. John Emerson was of Wellesley Hills, MA in 1979 and a Bigelow Society Board member from 1979-1982.  In 1996 he was still active with the Society.  During his youth, he lived at Rye, NY where he attended the Rye country Day School.  Then he went to Hotchkiss School, a boarding school in Lakeville, CT. He entered WW II and the family moved to Washington DC, having been appointed by President Roosevelt to establish the Office of Strategic Services, (OSS). John died 14 January 2003 after long illness.
