15349.4328 Dexter Aubrey ⁹ BIGELOW, son of Emerson W. ⁸ ( Lawson T. ⁷ , Thomas ⁶ , Thomas ⁵( Jedediah ⁴, Samuel ³, Samuel ², John ¹) and Elizabeth Helen (CROWELL) BIGELOW, was born at Andover, Day co, SD on 27 January 1889. He married on 14 December 1912 Marcella Viola Gorman. Marcella was born 25 Feruary 1889 at Andover, Day co, SD. She was the daughter of James and Catherine (Halpin) Gorman. Dexter died 07 December 1964 at Woodland, Yolo co, CA. Marcella had died 19 April 1954 in Webster, Day co, SD. 11 children.
Dexter (called Deck) became a barber at an early age and stayed in that profession the rest of his life. The family lived at Andover, Pierpont, Bristol and Webster in Day Co., and Britton, Marshall Co. Deck told the story of how his family, during the black measles epidemic, when four of his brothers and sisters died, [they] carried the dead out through the windows to spare the other sick children the grief.

15349.43283 Mylo "Milo" John (10) Bigelow, son of Dexter Aubrey (9), ( Emerson (8), etc. and Marcella (Gorman) Bigelow, was born 18 August 1915 at Britton, Marshall Co., South Dakota. He married 05 December 1940 at Webster, Day Co., South Dakota to Annabelle Lucille (Ann) Moen. She was born 22 Jan 1924 at Butler, Day Co., South Dakota, the daughter of Albert and Pearl (Faurot) Moen. They had three children. Both spellings were used in two different accounts for Mylo, Milo from Pat's original cards. Mylo died 10 June 1966 at Woodland, Yolo Co., California.
Mylo and Ann spent the early years of their marriage farming near Pierpont and Lilly, Day Co. South Dakota. They then removed to Woodland, Yolo Co., California, where he worked for the city.

Obituary of Dennis:
     Dennis Bigelow, 69, died Dec. 13, 2010 in Gun Barrel City, TX, after a brief illness. Dennis was born Sept. 14, 1941 to Lester and Edythe Bigelow. He grew up in Webster and graduated from Webster High School in 1959.
     He moved to Rapid City in 1962 and then to Woodland, CA, where he married Lupe Spence. He worked for Woodland City Parks Department until his retrement. He moved to Gun Barrel City in 2003.
   Survivors include his former wife; sister Coleen Kristofitz, Duncanville, TX; brother Richard Bigelow, Webster; daughter Lauren David and husband Timm, Woodland; stepson Brian Spence; two grandchildren and one stepgrandchild. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and stepson Christopher Spence.

Edythe Bigelow, 88, Lancaster, TX died Nov. 1, 2010.
     Edythe M. Stevens was born April 11, 1922 to Alfred and Florence Stevens in Bristol. She married Lester Bigelow Nov. 8, 1939. They resided in Webster until 1962. Survivors include her children Coleen Kristofitz, Duncanville, TX; Dennis Bigelow, Gun Barrel City, TX; Richard Bigelow, Webster; one brother Rolland Stevens, Woodland, CA; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, many neices and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters: Lois Schimmel, Elaine Barton and Irene Steen and brother Duane Stevens.

Donald's Obituary: Donald C. Kristofitz of Duncanville passed away Dec. 31, 2000. He ws born Sept. 2,1936 in Fargo, North Dakota to Charles & Astrid (Langlie) Krostofitz. A 1959 graduate of North Dakota State University, as well as an army veteran, Mr. Kristofitz was a mechanical engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He retired in 1995 with 35 years of service, working first in the Omaha, Nebraska district, then the Southwestern District. Don was also an avid golfer and ice hockey fan. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Coleen (Bigelow) Kristofitz, son Alan M. Kristofitz & wife Michelle, daughter Amy Strouth and husband Rob, and grandchildren Austin & Nickolas Kristofitz, all of Duncanville; brother Curtis Kristofitz of St. Louis, MO; sisters Carol Smith & husband Jerry of Fargo, ND and Betty Kraft of Escondito, CA; mother-in-law Edythe Bigelow of DeSoto; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held 11:30 AM, Friday, Jan. 5, 2001 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville. Interment will follow at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM, Thursday at the Funeral Home." Obit had his photograph. Sent to Anne for Forge.

I am the great grandson of Dexter Bigelow grandson of Doris (Bigelow) Stevens. I was wondering if you are still doing the Forge and other membership stuff for the Bigelow family and descendents and how would I get involved? Do you have any type of Facebook page going for family members? There is one that I am involved with that just has a small part of the family included now called Dexter’s Genealogy – Family Group. There is only 70 members now mostly family from Minnesota, the Rockies and west coast. I’m just looking for any info I can find and help update some of the info that you already have, such as death dates of some of my grandmothers family.
