BIGELOW, was born at Collins Centre, Erie co, NY on 06 March 1844 and
married Fred Diggins on 18 (20?) September 1865 in McHenry co., IL.
Little is known about Fred except that he did serve in the Civil War and
was a cheesemaker by profession. Fred Diggins died in 1914.
Elizabeth died on 05 September 1923 at age 79. (see obit)

Fred Diggins (624) on September 20, 1865 McHenry County, Illinois.
She died on September 5, 1923 at age 79.

OBITUARY
Mrs. Eliza Diggins, a well know citizen of this community, died at the home
of her son, Emer Diggins, in this city, on Wednesday morning,
September 5th 1989, at about eight o'clock, at the age of 79 years, 5 months
and 20. days.
Deceased was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Bigelow,
and was born in New York state in the year 1844. When fiye years old, she
located with her parents in Illinois.
She was united In marriage to Fred Diggins on September
18, 1866, and to this union were born two children, Emer and Arthur, both
of this city.
They came to Kansas in 1876 and settled on a homestead
one mile west of Kensington, where they resided until 1907 when they moved
to this city. Mr. Diggins passed away te 1914.
Five years ago, Emer and wife moved into town, in
order to care for their mother, who had been an invalid for a number of years.
She was of a quiet and retiring nature, a loving
mother, a good neighbor, and loved by all who knew her.
While yet a child, she professed faith in Christ
and was baptized and united with the Universalist Church, of which she was
a member at the time of her death.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her two sons
and their families of this city, and one sister in Oregon.
Funeral services were conducted from the M. E. Church
Friday morning, Rev. Batson officiating. Interment was in Olive Branch cemetery.
