and Mary (HYZER) BIGELOW, was born ca 1840 (listed as 10
years old on 18 Sep 1850 census but 30 years old 1880 census) He
married three times: (1) Ida Robaree, who was 27 in 1880; (2) unknown;
(3) 06 Oct 1923 at Boyne City, Mich. Ruth (Wallace) Filer; (daughter of
Samuel and Hannah Filer) He gave his age as 66 years. She was born in Canada.
She died 8 Jan 1924 (66 yr 7 mo 10 da) about 3 months after marriage. (see
County Clerk Record (Liber 3 ,p 10, item 6) Charlevoix Co. Michigan. He
had 9 children. He worked at a saw mill in Boyne City, where his brother
Freedom, & Grandsons Thomas B. Bigelow and John W. Bigelow both worked.
He continued to resided in the Boyne City Michigan area for the remainder
of his life. It is thought that his (1) wife died there ? date unknown.
Elias died 19 Mar. 1936 ( 96 years) Boyne City, Michigan.
