I am so very happy to find you and the Bigelow
page. I am searching for any info or pictures of
Mary Cliffordier Bigelow who
married Edward Amory Walker in 1896. They moved to Waltham
Mass and he later became Mayor of Waltham. I really find it odd
that I can find no info on him, even though he was Mayor.
I am very interested in Mary Cliffordier Bigelow because my
aunt left me some of her personal belongings, and my husband has
Edward's gold pocket watch- given to him by the Waltham Watch Company
and engraved with his name.
I came across your info whilst reading an
article in Wicked Local Waltham about a barometer that belonged to
Mary's grandmother Cliffordier Elizabeth (Hose) Hodges.
Here is a little info on Mary's line:
-Gideon and Mary Ann Haynes had Agnes Ulrica Louisa, who
married Frank Winthrop Bigelow on May 8, 1871.
-Cliffordier Elizabeth (Hose) Hodges died Feb. 12, 1875, and was
buried in Grove Hill.
-Frank Winthrop Bigelow and Agnes were parents to Mary Cliffordier
Bigelow, who married Edward Amory Walker in 1896.
-Edward and Mary Bigelow Walker moved to Waltham to start a family.
This info was given by Donald, but there was no mention that Walker had
been Mayor.
Anyway, my interest lies more with Mary Bigelow, as I have her silver
monogrammed teaspoons and her silk pincushion with an ornate pattern
made out of straight pins with her monogram- I believe she made it
herself. I would love to find out more about her and her family- where
they lived, etc.
Thank you so much,
Tobi
Britton
