     1.3.1  Phebe (Phoebe) A. Smith was born in 1841 in Streetsboro, died 13 Dec 1909 in Kent, Portage Co., OH and apparently never married since she was listed as single as late as the 1900 census. She lived at home and then with her younger sister, Lucinda, and brother-in-law Samuel A. Barker. She is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Streetsboro, OH. 1.3.2  Martha J. Smith was born in 1843 in Streetsboro but no further information has been found. (U.S. Census 1850, 1860)

1.3.3  James Smith was born in 1844 in Streetsboro and died at age 18 of typhoid fever 20 Jul 1862 at Tuscumbia, Alabama, where he was serving in Captain Cotter’s Battery of the Union Army. This unit apparently was raised in Portage Co. and James Smith was the only soldier from the unit who died at Tuscumbia. 1.3.4  Malvina Smith was born in 1845 in Streetsboro and died 20 July 1847, age 2 years. (tombstone in Streetsboro Cemetery, Streetsboro, next to those of her grandparents)

1.3.5 Martin Smith was born in 1 Oct 1848 in Streetsboro and died 2 Dec 1872 there. He married Emory M. Price (?)(14 Feb 1851-2 Jan 1873) sometime after the 1870 census. (U.S. Census 1850, 1860, 1870; tombstone in Evergreen Cemetery, Streetsboro)

1.3.6  Lucinda Smith was born in early May 1850(1851?) in Streetsboro and died 28 Jan 1938. She married (1) between 1870 and 1880 Samuel A. Barker (1852-1907) who was a farmer in Streetsboro Twp. 1.4  Henry Bigelow was born in Salisbury, Litchfield Co., Connecticut, about 1818 and died before 11 Oct 1862. (Forge: The Bigelow Society Quarterly, 17(2):27,30; 1988; will of Samuel Bigelow dated 11 October 1862 seen at Portage County Historical Society, Ravenna, Ohio)

1.5  James Bigelow was born in Salisbury, Litchfield Co., CT, 28 Feb 1821 and died before 1900 in Nebraska. He married 12 Sep 1847 Sarah Ann Webb (27 Dec 1827-bet 1910 and 1920) in Portage Co., Ohio. He was a farmer and lived in Shalersville Twp., Portage Co., which is the township East of and adjoining Streetsboro Twp. from at least 1850. In 1873, he moved his family to Nebraska and lived in Geneva, Fillmore Co. Between 1900 and 1910, Sarah moved to Chicago, IL, with her daughter-in-law, and lived with her granddaughter, Venice Bigelow Jackson. 1.5.1  George E. Bigelow was born 20 Jun 1851 in Shalersville Twp. (possibly Ravenna), Portage Co., OH and died between 2 Jun 1900 and 15 Apr 1910. He married 22 Sep 1869 Belle G. Green (16 Feb 1851-after 1920). They lived with his parents (1870) and he farmed with his father. They moved to Nebraska in 1873 with his parents. He was in the mercantile business and farming in Geneva, Nebraska and later moved to Lincoln where he was in real estate and was a Christian evangelist (1900). He was the candidate of the Prohibition Party for governor in 1888. He supplied information on Samuel, James and himself to G.B. Howe.
