Samuel 4 BIGELOW

1532    Samuel 4 BIGELOW , son of Samuel 3 ( Samuel 2, John 1), and Ruth (WARREN) BIGELOW, was born 16 October 1707 in Marlborough, MA. He married (1) 28 November 1729 Jedidah HATHORN (see below). They settled in Shrewsbury near the Grafton town line. Jedidah died ____ and Samuel married (2) 07 May 1770 Mrs. Abigail (TAYLOR) HASTINGS, widow of Moses HASTINGS, and daughter of William TAYLOR. He drew up his will 14 April 1795, and in it mentioned wife Abigail, sons Samuel and Ithamar, children of son Samuel deceased, and daughters Dorcas LELAND and Jedidah, and child of daughter Sarah deceased. The two surviving sons were appointed executors.

                (2) 1770 Anna WINCHESTER; res Shrewsbury. 7 children.

                m 30 Apr 1760 John WHEELER. 7 children.

15323      Dorcas, b 6 July 1735; no death date; m 1 Dec 1768 Seth SWAN of Paxton;
                (2) ____ LELAND. 1 daughter.

15324      Solomon, b 25 July 1737; d 25 Oct 1742.

15325      Silas, b 10 Oct 1739; d 16 Nov 1769 Paxton, MA; m Mrs. Sarah Hall; graduated Harvard 1765, ordained 1767, minister at Paxton. No issue.
 
15326      Solomon, b 18 July 1742; d 12 May 1808 Brookfield, Orange co, VT; m (1) 4 Mar 1761 Sarah NEWTON, and (2) 1772 Hannah SANDERSON; res Schrewsbury and Winchendon, MA; Brookfield, VT. 9 children.

15327      Ithamar, b 30 July 1745; d 10 Mar 1807 Paxton, MA; m 1768 Persis BARRETT;
                res Paxton. 7 children.

15328      Sarah, b 10 Sept 1747; d 1782; m 8 June 1767 Ephraim SMITH of Grafton.
