Otis 8 BIGELOW

15331.129    Otis 8  BIGELOW, son of  Otis 7 ( Asahel 6 , Cornelius 5 , Cornelius 4, Samuel 3, Samuel 2, John 1) and Mary (PAYN) BIGELOW, was born at Baldwinsville, Saratoga co, NY on 09 March 1832 and married (1) on 0l October 1862 Margaret Payn the daughter of Daniel Taylor Payn of Fort Miller, NY. She died 10 December 1865 and he married (2) Mary Raymond Arms on 09 June 1868. She was the daughter of Roger N. and Lucretia J. (Taylor) Arms and born in Lansingburg, NY on 22 December 1840. This family resided in Washington, DC. Mary died on 15 October 1919 and Otis died in Baldwinsville on 12 February 1932. He and his first wife are buried in the Riverside cemetery, Baldwinsville.

I have just finished reading, with some interest the following entry from your genealogical information concerning our family:

15331.1291t    Robert Payn, b 10 Dec 1863; d 06 Sept 1955 Boston, MA; m 09 Nov 1911 Caroline Evans; 1 known child. It is interesting to me because this entry concerns my grandfather.  There are some little details you might want to correct.  For one, he spelled his middle name with an "e",  that is he was known as Robert Payne Bigelow. Secondly, you have mistaken his wife's (my grandmother's) original middle name for her maiden name.  She was Caroline Evans Chase before she married, and referred to herself as Caroline Chase Bigelow after marriage.  You are correct in noting that he had only one child, my father Robert Otis Bigelow. If you'd like further information about our branch of the family tree, write back to me and I'll be happy to provide it.
