and Elizabeth (EARL) BIGELOW, was born circa 1838 in Andes
township,
Delaware, NY. The family moved to Montcalm county, MI, in 1853. There,
on 18 May 1856, she married Darius Roop. They lived in Gratiot county
and
the county history devotes considerable space to the early life of
Darius
and his parents. Darius, son of John and Nancy Mills Roop, was born 16
March 1832 in Lucas county, OH. About a year later, he located in North
Shade township. When he died, Elizabeth is said to have remarried a man
by the name of Rudolph Lusher in 1898, but we have been unable to
corroborate
this, nor do we have a death date for either Elizabeth, (sometime after
1898), or Darius. Elizabeth was known as "Roxy".
