Jesse 6 BIGELOW

 16225.2     Jesse 6  BIGELOW, son of  Solomon 5 ( Benjamin 4 , Jonathan 3 , Joshua 2, John 1), and Tamzin? (WILSON) BIGELOW, was born circa 1770, possibly in New Hampshire, or in Salisbury, Addison county, VT. As early as 1790 he applied for land in Ontario, seeking asylum due to his loyalties to the Crown. He took up land along with other American expatriates, in Leeds county, Ontario. About 1794 he married Thankful Fulford (?). He died circa 1802. Thus we cannot verify the 3 dates of his life's milestones-birth, marriage, death. His widow Thankful, before September 1803, married Silas Gillette, and she had other issue. Silas died intestate in 1829; Thankful was in 1852 living in Granville county with her son Silas Gillete. We have no further record of her.

I was born in Smiths Falls, Ont.-now living in Port Coquitlam, BC., and it is such a gift to discover the Bigelow Society on the net. I have become interested in discovering more about my family's history. From information I discovered after my paternal grandmother died, I believe that I am descended from John Biglo in the following way.
