BIGELOW, son of Alpheus 5 (
Josiah 4, Thomas
3, Samuel 2, John1) and Eunice (MIXER)
BIGELOW, was born 03 November 1799 Weston, Middlesex county, MA. He married
Maria Oliver Childs, daughter of Amariah and Ruth (Larkin) Childs of Lynn,
MA. She was born in June of 1794 at Lynn. With his brother-in-law Nathaniel
Bailey of Weston, they went to Tennessee and settled in Madison county, where
they had mercantile interests. Elijah, a Harvard graduate, was also editor
of the Jackson Gazette, along with teaching school. Elijah died 28
August 1830 in Jackson, Madison county, TN; Maria died 21 January 1872.
