Thaddeus Bowman ⁶ BIGELOW

16C53.5     Thaddeus Bowman ⁶ BIGELOW, son of Benjamin ⁵ ( Jabez ⁴ , Eleazer ³ Joshua², John¹), and Rebecca (BOWMAN) BIGELOW, was born 03 June 1799 at Westminster, Worcester county, MA. When he was a child, his parents moved to Cambridge, MA, where he spent his youth. He graduated at Harvard 1820, and joined his father in business in Boston. In Oct 1822 he married (1) Polly Cutler, born Petersham, MA 31 March 1798. They moved to Troy, NY circa 1826, where he was again in business. His wife died in Troy 11 April 1846. Thaddeus returned to Cambridge on his father's death circa 1849, and in 1856 removed to Wisconsin, but after a short residence there, joined his children in California. He married (2) 03 June 1847 Mrs. Ann H. Emmons, born 12 January 1813 Chester, MA. She died 09 July 1876 in Oakland, CA. and he died 03 June 1888, also at Oakland. Twice he was Alderman at Cambridge (MA), and once served in the state legislature from Cambridge.

16C53.52     Lucy Elliot, b 19 Aug 1828 Troy, NY.
