16164.9A5     Hiram Oliver 8 BIGELOW, son of Amos A. 7 (Joseph 6 , Nathan 5, John 4, Joshua 3, Joshua 2, John 1), and Abbey (CHESTER) BIGELOW, was born at Tomah, Monroe co, WI on 29 December 1861 and married (1) on 25 December 1883 Alice Ruth Calkins. Alice was born at Tomah on 18 April 1866, the daughter of Nelson and Eliza (Rayner) Calkins. They were divorced in 1889. She died 17 March 1956. Hiram married (2) 09 June 1891 Ruhama "Amy" Marie Rumsey, born 05 October 1859 Hartford, WI. She was the daughter of Hiram and Harriet Anne (Burgess) Rumsey. Like his brother William, Hiram lived at Myron (or Marion), Dakota Territory for several years and died at Sparta, WI on 12 November 1953. Amy had died 19 March 1952 Houston, TX. Buried in Madison, WI (see headstone)
