(VII) Jonathan Brooks, son of Jonathan Bigelow, was born in Conway,
Massachusetts, April 12, 1800, died September 21, 1876, .in Stowe, Vermont,
where he was a farmer. He lived in Conway until 1841, when he moved to Stowe.
He married, in Conway, Relief Newhall, born December 30, 1803, died March
23, 1893. Children: Jonathan, born in Conway, January 1, 1824, died in Lexington,
Massachusetts, May 11, 1907; Eliza Ann, Conway, April 23, 1820, died in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin, May 3, 1913; Lurania Nevvcomb, Conway, September 7, 1827, died
in Salem, Massachusetts, April, 1880; Martha Ann Page, Conway, November 7,
1829: Eliakim, Shelburne, Massachusetts, June 18, 1831, Phineas Newhall,

See FORGE article "Old Furniture" 1980-Vol.9, #1, P. 10. Billie Marie (Bigelow) Hayes great great grandfather. Billie (in 1980) was of Montpelier, VT who uses daily a bureau owned as early as 1835 by Relief (Newhall) Bigelow, wife of Jonathan B. then of Conway, MA and was taken to Vermont in 1841 when the family moved there. Relief died in 1891 and the bureau went to Edwin P. Bigelow, grandson and used at "The Ledges" in Stowe until the place was sold. It then went to Edwin's son, Edwin L. Bigelow who took it to his home in Manchester, VT. In the late 1960's he gave it to his cousin's grand-daughter Billie Marie. The dresser was still used in 1980 and was 152 years old.

dated 14 Apr 1915 published in Stowe VT newspaper--"I remember Addie,
Annie and Susan, but never heard much about Dr. Edwin Bigelow. I
assume he never married either, so no grandchildren from all these children.
I have a gold ring in the box, with Addie, Annie and Susie's names on it,
so think it's gold that Eliakim brought home from California.."
