16312.16 John ⁷ BIGELOW, son of David ⁶( David ⁵ , David ⁴ , Lt. John ³ , Joshua ², John ¹), and Lydia (CHAPEL) BIGELOW, was born at Brookfield, Orange, VT on 04 November 1799. He married twice, the first marriage was at unknown date to Laura Howard, who was born at Braintree, VT. She died on 30 September 1859 at age 54, Brookfield. John married again on 11 September 1860 Tila Harwood. John died at Braintree, VT on 0l February 1879.

I am looking for information on a Mary Powers whom I believe was born in Vermont in 1836 or 1838 based on conflicting census reports.
I found a Mary Powers in the 1850 US Census living in Brookfield, Orange, VT with a BIGELOW family. The adults in family were John BIGELOW age 50 and Laura BIGELOW age 44. Children listed were John Jr age 13, Lydia age 11. There was also a James Munn age 23 in the household.
This family roughly matches a John 7 BIGELOW (b. 4 Nov 1799) on your web site.
(Mary married a William Doherty about 1852. Mary had children in Canada in 1858 and 1860, moved to New York by 1865. She appears in the 1870 US Census in Syracuse, NY with her family. She later moves to Detroit with some of her eight children.)
I would appreciate any information you may have on Mary Powers, how she came to live with the Bigelow family or what her relationship was to the family.
