Edmund Bowman 7 BIGELOW

16C41.31      Edmund Bowman 7 BIGELOW, son of Edmund Bowman 6 (Joshua 5 , Joshua 4 , Eleazer 3, Joshua2, John1) and Hannah (HOWE) BIGELOW, was born at Worcester, Otsego co., NY on 08 December 1826 and on 22 February 1852 married Lois Robinson.  She was born 18 August 1833 at Westford, NY the daughter of Barber and Lois (Shelland) Robinson (see below).  In 1889 he was a businessman in Chicago, IL.  Both died after 1889 and most likely, Chicago. (see below)

16C41.311t     Claude Duval, b 25 Oct 1855 E. Worcester,NY; d 12 Dec 1910; m __ Aug 1886 Anna Schaffer; b 16 July 1865; d 02 Jan 1964; res Chicago; a dau: Kathryn Bigelow m Theodore R. Leighton.

16C41.312t     Blanche Cora, b 17 Mar 1863 Marshall,WI; d _____ ; m _ Sept 1882 John S. Roome [Dr.]; Resided in Calmar, IA and had 2 children.

Milton Bigelow married Mary Shelland. see Milton 5Bigelow
Blanch Cora Bigelow's grandmother is Lois Shelland see above.
Does anyone know anything about the Shellands?

Got the following from a contact in Canada who is researching Robinsons in New York. -Bob

from a Delaware Co. newspaper came the following marriage notice....

"In Worcester, on the 22nd ult., by Rev. S. Ottman, Mr. Edmond B. Biglelow
Jr., of East Worcester, to Miss Lois Robinson of Worcester." Bloomville Mirror,
March 1, 1852 p.2 c.2

Also later in the decade, Edmund and Huldah Bigelow (Edmund's parents? had their
hotel in E. Worcester burn down. Huldah was accused of torching it. There were
some pretty long articles about. it so I haven't copied them. the matter went to
trial and she was found not guilty.

The above census shows Edmund, Lois and son Claude living together in Medina, Dane County, Wisconsin.  This census notes Edmund's age as 25 
which places his birth year abt 1837.  Both son Claude and wife Lois' ages are consistant with info on Bigelow Society +- 2years.

The above census notes Lois, son Claude and daughter Blanch living together again in Medina, Dane County, Wisconsin.  Ages for all three are consistant with 1860 census and Bigelow Society records.  However, Edmund 
is not listed with the family nor on the previous page and I have been  unable to locate him.

The above census notes that Lois is living with sister Mary b. 1830 and brother-in-law "Z Eemerey".  Lois' age in this census is consistant with 
previous census, Father's birthplace of Ireland is consistant with  following census records.  No children are living with her and Edmund is 
again absent from the household in this census.

Edmund, Lois and son Claude and his family are all living in same household.  Age for Edmund is consistant with Bigelow Society records at 
this point.  Ages of Lois and Claude are consistant as well. A Sophia Schaefer is also listed in the 1900 census as a boarder.   Wife Anna died 
1900-1910 as the 1910 census records notes Claude as being widowed.  The 1910 census also notes Anna S Bigelow as daughter to head of household 
Edmund.  This must be an error as the children below are listed as grandchildren. The children of Claude and Anna Schaffer are:

Helena     b. 1887 in Kansas
Roland     b. 1889 in Illinois
Dorothy    b. 1895 in Illinois
Katherine  b. 1898 in Illinois
Hobart     b. 1901 in Illinois
