David W. 7 BIGELOW


16136.52       David W. 7 BIGELOW, son of  John 6 (Nathaniel 5 , Nathaniel 4, Joshua 3, Joshua 2, John1)  and Elizabeth (FOLLANSBEE) BIGELOW, was born at Marlborough, NH on 19 November 1816. When very young, the family moved to Framingham, MA and was engaged in the manufacture of paper. David left home and in 1850 is found in South Carolina working as a teacher. In this same household was another teacher, Milberry Price - family tradition says her surname was "Wall". They were apparently married soon after the 1850 census and moved to Dawson, Terrell, GA. Milberry was born 10 October 1829. David was in the GA militia and his family lived out their lives in Dawson where they both died, he in November 1883 and she on 20 December 1899. Both are buried in Dawson. Milberry listed in Cedar Hill cemetery and David in Sardis Baptist cem??

16136.525     Warren David, b 0l Dec 1864; d 11 Dec 1898; unm.

Normally, county records give 2 dates on the marriage record. The first is the date the license was issued and secondly, the "return" date of actual marriage as sent in by the minister or justice. Eustace and John have no "return" dates entered - only the date the license was issued. Usually the marriage takes place within 3 days after the issue. The minister, in these two cases, failed to send in his returns.
