Thank you very much for posting Hopestill Bigelow's letter to his son on your web site.
My ancestor, Samuel Thomas, was probably quite familiar with your ancestors, Samuel Bigelow (born 4/2/1763 Tyringham, MA) and his wife Elizabeth Fuller, as well as her parents Aaron and Rebecca Fuller. Much more.................

I am looking for the father and grandfather of Joseph Bigelow.  Joseph Bigelow and his wife Betsey Lammen were married 4 Feb. 1807, in Morris Co., NJ.  Their son, Joseph, was born 4 March 1812, in Warren Co., NJ.  I believe the elder Joseph to be either the grandson or great grandson of John (3) Bigelow, who was born in Hartford in 1679 and died 25 July 1733, in Whippany, NJ.

Does anyone have any information on the birth date and place, and the parents of John E. Bigelow who was the father of Lucinda Bigelow of Corinna, ME? Lucinda was b June 1, 1836.
Also looking for Lucinda's mother, Polly Bunker Bigelow. Her name was probably Mary and she may have been the daughter of Enoch Bunker. Lucinda was born June 1, 1836 in Corinna and married to Harrison Mower of Dexter on Dec. 7, 1859.

Hi Rod...My name is Vernon Whiting and I was introduced to your web-site by a cousin while I was searching for descendants of a James L. Bigelow who married Harriet Vargason (my mother was a Vargason).  I found James, but was
unable to get into the site...said I needed to contact you.  While perusing your site, I found something very interesting...We are apparently distant cousins on the Whiting side also.  Your John Bigelo's sister, Elizabeth and Richard Butler are my 8th great grandparents.  Susanna Butler married Elisha Whiting, Sr.  I have them all in my database...small world, huh?  I would be
very interested in what info you have on James...do you know the names of his children??  Thank you so much for your time.

Greetings Mr. Bigelow.  I am researching Payson Wells Peterson (b.1827), who married Martha Ann Page Bigelow, daughter of Jonathan Brooks Bigelow. He was my Great-Great Grandfather (and hence Martha was my Great-Great Grandmother).  I see you have him listed as Rev. Payson Wells Peterson.  Do you have any additional information about him (e.g., Was he ordained? With which denomination was he affiliated?  Who were his parents?)
Any assistance you might be able to provide will be most appreciated.  I enjoyed perusing the Bigelow Society pages.  You have done a wonderful job.
Thanks,

I am seeking information on an Annetta Randall.  I am hoping that you might be able to help me out.
She came to Auburn, Kansas with my gr-gr-grandfather, Dr. Cyrus C. Moore in
1860.  Annetta was from the New York or New Jersey area.  She was listed in
the 1875, Kansas Census as living with the Moore family as a housekeeper.  I
have been trying to find out who her parents were and what is her connection
to my family.
Annetta was born between 1846 and 1847.  She is listed on the 1875 Cencus as
being 27 years old.  She lived with my grandfather Dr. Moore and family in
Auburn, Ks. I think until they moved to Carbondale, Kansas in 1871 or 72.  We
did find that when my grandfather Dr. Moore died in 1885, he left a sizeable
amount of property to Annetta Randall and her heirs.  The problem is we
cannot find anything out about her or her heirs.
We are just trying to find out how she fits into our family picture.  My
grandfather was married to a Catherine Bower, from Philadelphia, Pa. in 1844.
I really hope that you might be able to help me.

Thank you so much.

My 12-yr old daughter's working on her ancestry for a class project, and I've just dropped in for a visit to your site.  We, the Dolor Davis to Edward Fuller connection, have always been told of the strange goings-on where the first cousins became man and wife on 2 generational levels, but never understood why -- if there were other possible suitors -- this sort of match was considered to be a good thing.  Have you any clues?  (It is not the sort of topic a respectable 6th grade student brings up with her classmates, we have learned!)
Our son, the 5th of 7 boys, is, by the way, named Samuel -- yes, after the orphaned Samuel.  All of our 10 children are similarly trisyllabically named after ancestors; they are charged with carrying the (hi)story on into the future.
Enjoyed the visit!
