Silas BIGELOW, was born on 17 Mar 1750 in Stowe, MA. He died on 17 May
1797 in New Ipswich, Hillsboro, New
Hampshire. He was Tavern and Inn Owner. He lived in Westford, Lunenburg,
and Ashburnham, MA and New Ipswich, NH.
When Silas settled in New Ipswich, NH he bought the house of Samuel Whittemore,
enlarged it, and made it into "The
Bigelow Tavern". After Silas died in 1797 his widow married Zaccheus Walker,
and he moved in with her and ran the
Tavern. Silas BIGELOW and Rachel PITTS were married in 1774 in Westford,
Middlesex Co., MA. Rachel PITTS was born on 25
Dec 1755 in prob. Townsend, MA. She died on 4 Jan 1829.
