Jonathan 3 BIGELOW

Jonathan 3 BIGELOW, Ancient Burying Ground, Main St. Hartford, Hartford County, CT
Also known as Center Church Graveyard

121    Jonathan 3 BIGELOW, oldest child of Jonathan 2, (John 1), and Rebecca (SHEPARD) BIGELOW, was born 22 March 1673 in Hartford, Hartford, CT. He was married 14 December 1699 to Mabel EDWARDS, daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (TUTHILL) EDWARDS, and a relative of the theologian Rev. Jonathan EDWARDS (see below). Mabel was born 13 December 1685 Hartford. They settled near his father's homestead in Weathersfield Lane, and he died there 29 July 1749. His will, drawn up 16 November 1738, proved _ October 1749, mentions wife Mabel, daughters Jerusha, Rebecca, Mabel, and Irena, and sons Timothy and Jonathan; by implication children Joseph and Anne were by then deceased without issue. From the clerk's office in Hartford we find that John POOGOTOON (Indian) and Sarah his wife, with consent of their master Thomas REEVES of Southwold, Long Island, did bind themselves and their son Sampson to serve Jonathan BIGELOW (themselves for four and one half years, Sampson until he was 21 years of age, or nineteen years six months), dated 12 July 1723. Due to poor town records of Hartford, we find baptisms of most of the children in Church records. Mabel died 14 May 1765 in Hartford.

Thank you for the detail regarding Jonathan Bigelow [s. of Jonathan and Mable (Edwards) Bigelow], wife Tabitha Coleman and their apparent children at Hartford. Is this material from Barbour's unpublished "Early Hartford Families"?
Mabel Edwards was the younger sister of my ancestor Anne (Edwards) (Richardson) Davenport, through Anne's son Amos by Jonathan Richardson.  On the other hand, Thankful (Coleman) Bigelow was the younger sister of Comfort, who had three husbands – 1) Crafts Goodrich, 2) John Post and 3) William Wright.  Whereas I known the ancestry of Comfort's last two husbands, Crafts Goodrich's ancestry is blind and for whom I am searching.  The addition of the details regarding Comfort's sister Tabitha, and the rest of Tabitha and Comfort's siblings may lead me to a necessary clue for Craft Goodrich's illusive parents.
In that context, because the Coleman and Goodrich families were from Wethersfield, I recently downloaded the pdf version of Vol. VII and VIII of the Connecticut Magazine.  It contains the printed transcription of the baptism "Diary of Rev. Stephen Mix" of the Wethersfield Church (1698-1735).  It includes the following two baptisms of the first two children of Lieut. Timothy Bigelow [s. of Jonathan and Mable (Edwards) Bigelow] and wife Abigail at Wethersfield, who were not baptized like the rest of the children at the 1st Church of Hartford:

Vol. VIII (1903-4),
p. 156. "Feb'y 11, 1727-8. Hezekiah, child of Timothy Begelo."
p. 158. "May 31, 1730. Timo: child of Timothy Begelo."
